Hello! I just purchased a JBL Eon10 G2 speaker. It was $450 plus tax, plus $35 for the carrying bag. I got a year of no payments through Guitar Center. This speaker is perfect for my nursing home and retirement home gigs. I can't believe how light it is and how great it sounds. I haven't been able to compare it to some of the other active speakers mentioned on this forum, but they're all (EV, Mackie, Samson, Yamaha) quite a lot heavier. I was thinking of switching to the Barbetta Sona 32, but that weighs 10 lbs. more, and it would be a hassle exchanging the JBL.

Anyway, it sounds good to me, and you won't break your back.

The JBL Eon10 G2 sounds like a great speaker. How many inputs does it have?

While looking for a small powered speaker, I came across the Samson EX20 which I got for $325. It weighs in around 37 pounds, but has wheels and an extended handle. It has only one input (next model up has two) and is not only great for the nursing home jobs, but is a very powerful monitor for stage jobs.
