Well, while working on the cd I just finished I was simultaneously working on a new vocal cd and have put the first 5 cuts up to " No Questions Asked"

As always thanks for the continued indulgence of having a listen. I appreciate it and any feedback you might have. I have incorporated some of the suggestions you guys have made in the past ....thanks.

Terry, the levels were well ballanced and the song was great, but I could hear what seemed to be distortion in both the vocals and the accompaniment--almost as if the system was overdriven a bit. I downloaded the song twice using two different computers to make sure it wasn't something at my end, and it sounded the same both times. You may want to double check your output and record levels.

Cheers,

Gary

Hi Terry! That sounded very excellent! Is that the Tyros you're playing in your song? Sound quality is very excellent too! Great job!!

Sorry it too so long to get back to you Terry, but I just got back to the office. The only song I noticed the distortion, and it was only minor was "No Questions Asked." All of the other sounded just fine, and the quality and composition were excellent.

Cheers,

Gary

The songs sounded good. How did you record the vocals? HD, Adat... ? Did you have them professionally mixed? Were the sequences done entirely from the Tyros or do you use any computer software sequencer?

I noticed some pro equipment on the picture background. Triton Rack? Roland 5080? Would be cool if you post an "equipments used/owned" list on your site.

Tyros Slave,
Dean

Dean,
Thanks for the kind words and the visit.

As for your Q's:
I do 99% of my recording on a Yamaha AW 4416 hard disc recorder, including the vocals. I only use Sonar if there is some in depth editing I need to do. I do all the mixing on it as well.

About the equipment list, here's my philosophy about it.....when the companies start promoting me on their sites, I will start promoting them on my site, as I did with the Chapman Stick. I'm on their site, they're on mine. The list looks like this though:
Keyboards:
Tyros and Alesis Andromeda
Sound modules:
Roland xv 3080, Triton Rack, Emu Planet Earth
Recording & mixdown cd burn:
Yamaha AW 4416, Alesis Masterlink, Alesis M1 Active monitors Roland AC 100 Amp, Mic Akg C 1000 condensers, PC recording, Sony laptop with Sonar
Effects processors etc:
Digitech GNX 3, TC Electronis G Force, Rane SP 13 Equalizer
Percussion:
Roland Handsonic, Yamaha DD55
Other instruments:
Chapman Stick, Mallet Kat Vibraphone.
Guitars:
Gibson CL 40, Gibson ES 175, Larivee Jumbo 12, Lakewood A 54, Ramirez Classical

Then a few other small things preamps etc.

Terry,

Nice work on your new CD project.
I especialy enjoyed the Title song
"No Questions Asked"
I got a litle Glenn Campbellesque feeling when listening. Nice easy flow to it.
Thanx for sharing.....
