hey folks,
Here I am... 3 songs down on the next original CD(I thought it would be easier the 2nd time around, however, it's not so)... I have a tune that I'm fiddling with and it's just a smooth ride but it's to darn simple... Not a bunch of chord changes and not a bunch of other stuff either. I find it kind of soothing... I just came off writing a tune with a bunch of drumming changes and fills and adding tracks (After all, I discovered the OTS button my keyboard and now for the first time I feel I have a drummer in my band)... My question is do you feel you have to add a bunch of other stuff... Or could you be content with a real simple song?

IMO a song is what it is be it simple or complex. to me it all depends on if it says what you want it to say.

It often times in tunes is just as important what you don't play as what you do play.

A composition should only get as complex as it needs to be. Three blind mice and Happy Birthday aren't very complex, but two of the most widely known tunes ever.
