We received our first shipment of Korg PA60's today. Nice keyboard. Nice new Charcoal color. Sounds just like the PA80. It doesn't have the drawbar organs, no flash card slot, no sampler, no aftertouch but only $1299.00 price tag. I think this will do very well in that price range. All sounds, styles and sequencer capabilities are the same. I don't have to much to say about this one because if you know the PA80, you know the PA60.... I didn't notice any difference today while playing, but the keyboards are in two different sections of my store. I'll check tomorrow. Actually, I liked the feel of the PA60. I'll have to check that tomorrow also. George Kaye Kaye's Music Scene Reseda, California

Looks like with the Korg PA60 there's finally an arranger keyboard approaching the price of the $1,000 Yamaha PSR2000 now. It will be interesting to find out if the PA60 will eventually go 'head to head' in a price match war with the PSR2000? I would have originally considered the PA80/60, but unfortunately Korg never got it together to expand it's arranger chord recognition table to include jazz chords. Kind of a shame, because I've always liked many of Korg's freshly innovative sounds.

Uncle Dave, The keys on the PA60 are a little shorter than the PA80. This changes the feel a little bit. Some might prefer the shorter key because it responds with less key stroke. The speakers are good. It's really hard to tell them apart. In the PA80 they use a woofer and a tweeter and on the PA60 is like a car stereo speaker with a woofer and the cone in the center for high frequencies. It's hard to tell them apart. George: Sounds like the PA60 is a great "performing" keyboard for the price. I ‘ve never owned Korg board, so I am Just curious, 1) what is the size of the Internal Flash Rom for file storage? 2) How does the Registration system compares with Yamaha and Ketron, and how many regs. can be stored? 3) Can you add a hard disk or any outboard devise? Computer port? 4) What's the weight?
Thanks for all your valuable efforts. Mario

Mario, The weight is 30 lbs. A hard drive can be installed but unlike the PA80 which is user installable, you have to buy a hard disk mounting kit from Korg and the keyboard needs to be taken apart to install it so they suggest having a service center install it. There are 160 user locations for performances which include everything you can tweak and change on the keyboard and styles and songs can be played direct from either floppy or hard disk so amount of flash memory is not an issue. You can store 48 user styles but hundreds can be played direct from disk as well. George Kaye Kaye's Music Scene Reseda, California

Thanks George: Never before have I been presented with so much a selection of new boards on the market, this is great! I guess we know by now that the KB makers out there take the arranger market seriously enough to continue rolling them out of their production lines, something that is extremely encouraging. Thanks for your prompt reply, the PA60 sound very enticing at this price and all it's great features. Mario
