Hey All:

I tried to hook-up my 9000pro to my PC, based on what is on the "psr tutorial", but it sounds in mono.

The reason is that the suggested psr's cable combination is not available in stores and its hard to get. I went to the Radio Shack and they told me that I have to buy adapters to connect the plugs and jacks and when I did that, everything was in mono.

Any idea on who is selling those exact cables?

Thanks,

Alfred

Alfred,

If you want to connect to your soundcard through the fixed outputs, use : http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=6211743&type=product&id=1069298385608

If you get peaks above 0db, depending on your soundcard and/or recording program, lower the EQ settings on your kb all 2 or 3 steps.

John is right--Radio Shack does not even sell the correct addapter. The configuration is used prior to the availability of the cable John posted was an effects cable plus a radio shack headphone extension cable.

Thanks John,

But BestBuy's "Y audio cable" has 1/8 inch plugs. Again, I have to find 1/4 inch adapters in order to plug them into the back of my keyboard. I dont think that will be a problem. But, how long is that cable.
Is there anything else I will need?

Any other ways to connect the keyboard?

Alfred

Alfred,

I'm sorry about that. I figured the 9000 had the same connecting options as the 1500/3000, which is either RCA for the fixed output or 1/4 inch jacks/

I downloaded the user manual for the 9000 and saw that you can only use 1/4 inch jacks on it. so the right cable for you is this one : http://www.warhogsaudioshop.com/browsepr...ni-3-Meter.HTML
It's 9.8 feet long but only mail order I'm afraid.

Thanks John:

If this is the cable that will do the job then I will buy it.

But in the mean time I am thinking about buying only one cable with 1/8 inch female stereo jack on one side and a split 1/4 inch mono or stereo male plugs on the other side from the Radio Shack and try it out.( this is easier for me as we have a Radio Shack nearby).

Not sure why in the "psr tutorial" they recommend 2 connecting cables, where they could have recommended only one cable with split plugs.

Thanks again John and Gary

The Best Buy cable has a pair of male RCA plugs at one end, for which you can buy a pair of female RCA to 1/4-inch phono male adapters at Radio Shack for under $3--problem solved.

When I posted the hookup at the PSR Tutorial site the cables were not readily available, therefore, the two-cable configuration was the only option at that time.

Hey Guys:

Happy Happy!!

I took back all the cables that I bought from the Radio Shack. ( almost $60 ). They gave my money back.

Then I went to the Dollar Store and bought a 2 meter long cable with a male 1/4 inch stereo plug on one side and 2 male 1/4 inch split on the other side. And also 2 1/8 inch adapters. Total cost: $5.76

It's working and everything is great. I have Sony's SoundForge 8 and also Cool Edit Pro. I guess I will experiment with SF8 for now.

Just wanned to keep you informed.

Thanks guys

Hey Gary,

Have you posted any songs before?
Where do you post them?

Also, where can I get good Plug-in Voices for my 9000pro.

I post mine on my web site. Most Internet Service Providers provide their customers with 10 to 15 megabites of free space so you can create your own web page. You can put several MP3s in that space, then post the link to the song in the forum. If you click on the link at the bottom of this message it will take you to my home page. Then click on Listen To The Music.

Cheers,

Gary

Gary,

Good music. Very easy to listen to and good on the ears.

I don't have postings for now. If I have some, I will post them on the net.

Thanks for sharing your music.
