HI Keith,
not sure it will work.
Program & Bank changes will probably not match up let alone the drum mapping.

I'm considering getting an sd2 for my OMB realtime arranger software. Difference is Bank & Program changes etc are easily adapted in omb to suit whatever soundsource I want to use , don't know how you'd go adapting what the T2 sends out via midi.

I've used my SD1+ as a soundsouce for OMB/psr styles. It can sound pretty good ( reason why I'm considering the SD2 for portability.) Styles ( especially drums) require a fair amount of editing though . The Sd1 is editable ie I could create drumsets to suit the xg mapping, but I wouldn't have that option with the sd2, so I'm better off trying to match the sd1 as closely as possible to the sd2 & edit my omb/psr styles to suit the sd2.

Haven't tried miding up my PSR1500 to SD1. The SD1 sounds are superior to my psr, but I don't know if I could be bothered going thru the hassles of trying to use the psr as a master or if it would even work.

best wishes
Rikki

Hi Frank,
where did you read it only had 64. Iwas under the impression it had 128 note polyphony??

Actually I'm trying to find out the polyphony on the SD2, hoping it's at leat 64 note.

Ketron aren't very big on giving out some details.

best wishes
Rikki

I downloaded a review from a Brittish Keyboard magazine,

He basically said that there were 64 note poly but had no note drops,

he also said there were less sounds and less styles compared to the SD1, but he mentioned the operating system was basically the same with some features that had been missing were added.

the brochure I have here at my store says 128 note polyphony and that is also what AJ told me when he demo'd at the Winter NAMM show last January. It seemed to me to me much like the SD1 in operation but with some newer, nicer sounds.

Hi George,
you don't happen to know what the polyphony on the sd2 is.

Can't beleive Ketron don't put it in their specs/brochures.

best wishes
