DJ,

I would not bother. First of all, the 100W is with 10% THD (total harmonic distortion), which is way too much. With 0.4% THD you only get 80 watts.

Also, I don't see if the mixer is stereo, which you really want for an arranger KB or for playing records/CDs.

You would be better off buying a good set of computer speakers for half the price, and a small mixer (e.g. Behringer) for another $90.

That's my $0.02 worth.

Alex

According to an ad I saw, the Dawn system was completely redesigned for 2003. The woofer does have a handle. As for the peavey escort, I took mine apart and am upgrading the speakers. The piezo is real cheapo, exactly the same as the one going for less than 2 bucks at a number of speaker sites. I will probably have to up the power to run it too.

Now that you mention it, the sattelites DO seem to be different. They never had an "enclosed" grille area before. It was an open air design. Who knows ...... maybe they'll sound good. They didn't progect very well because of the placement and limitation of the tweeter, but anything is possible. We'll have to give a listen !

what's a way to hook up the subwoofer to the amplifier in a dawn 510 system. i see the line out jack but there appeared to be no sound coming from the subwoofer during a gig the other night. would appreciate if you respond at your earliest convenience.

Has anyone seen, heard or used the Peavey Escort PA system? I saw one in a store, but wasn't paying much attention to PA's that day. They list it as $749, but I'm sure you could pick it up for less. http://www.peavey.com/products/shop_onli...e/2G/escort.cfm

I have a Peavey Escort and use it quite a bit for smaller jobs. Now that I have the Yamaha MS system, I don't use it as much. It does project farther than the little Yamahas though.
I find it to be an excellent system. Self-contained, good sound, good effects and quite powerful enough for small jobs. If there is any weakness it would be in the extreme low end. Nothing will replace a sub-bass cabinet.
I've had nothing but compliments on the sound when I use them.
Having said all this, I may decide to sell them, because I have so many sets of speakers and pa systems.
