Tony, I Like it a lot! Good job.
It reminded me of Bonnie Raitt and Jackson Brownes version of "Kisses sweeter than Wine" and what they did to it. Making it sound island. If you get the chance listen to it. Thank you,
Jim

Hi Tony: Now this "is" different. I like your fresh reggae groove approach. Was this performed on your new Roland E80? very nice sound & clean record levels. I recommend taking the tempo down a bit, as you're constantly having to play vocal 'catch up' in an attempt to keep up with the tempo & groove.

Scott

Hey, that's neat Tony. I toyed with the Reggae style too, it's very refreshing. As Scott said, tempo is an issue with this song; it's difficult to find a compromise between optimum style tempo and what's required for phrasing the lyrics.

This sounds more like a Yamaha than a Roland IMHO. The sound of the keyboard seems very clean and processed. I have the feeling the keyboard is sitting in the middle of a room, not plugged directly into the recorder. I like the harmonist setting, just enough and not overpowering (like mine ). Did you record this in one take? Your sound seems very smooth; what kind of recorder did you use? The keyboard seems to be placed a little behind the vocals, whatever that means...

Good job. Thanks for sharing.
Alrighty now, who's next? We can have a Crazy Lovefest.

AlrightTony !!! Nice refreshing version of Crazy Love I enjoyed it. I see your enjoying retirement. Last I knew you had a Technics board, did you upgrade to the E80?

Tony ......Way To Go baby!!

nice version of this well known tune K7 is sounding great...aside for a few vocal timing which can be tricky in a Reggae style beat, tempo is just right.

Good Job!

Wow ! ... thnx guys ... some good words from people whose talent I respect and admire ...

I am still playing and loving my techincs kn6000 ... that's what you are listening to ...

As the kn6 does not have the on-board capability to record vocals, I recorded the instrument in one take - kb to mixer to computer ... I then recorded the vocal in one take - mic to mixer to computer...

I agree with the comments about the vocals seeming 'rushed' in spots, especially the "she gives me love" phrase, but after listening a couple of times I think it is just a matter of my working on the vocal phrasing and starting it just a little sooner ... I like the tempo where it is ...

cass - I'm not sure what you meant by the kb being a "little behind the vocal" ...

The harmony is provided by my Digitech Workstation EX, and it wasn't even plugged into the board for the chord changes ... I just set the key, used the "Doobie Brothers" setting, and flew with it ...

Also, I use Acid Pro 6 for recording ... there was no editing or added fx for this tune ...
Thanks again...
t.
