I am going to buy a workstation in the next few days. I don't know which is best for me, either the yamaha ex5 or the korg trinity with prophecy and sampler. Could anyone advise me?
Thanks

If you have already purchased- well, good luck !

I had the EX7, and traded for the the Trinity proX.... I muxt say that the ProX is miles ahead in the "user friendly" area....

I could buy a Trinity only for the looks...big blue touchscreen, aluminium...wow! And it also sounds great, has an excellent effects implementation, and the touchscreen is a wonderful bonus: all the interactive devices in the future (from synths to computers, Hi-Fi, videotape...everything!) should work that way. But the EX5 has a far better polyphony, great sound generating resorces, sampling...
It' s a difficult choice. You could also try a Roland XP-80/XP-60 (same thing in 76/61 keys suit), and get mad trying to decide which expansion card to buy, or the new Generalmusic Equinox, which I've read is as good as a workstation in his price bracket gets. Good luck -whatever your purchase is, you'll hardly be disappointed.
Hugo.

I made the decision yesterday: EX5 or Triton. I chose the EX5 because of its more classical and warmer sound. The Triton (and consequently the Trinity) is more suitable to modern pop or dance music, which was not my taste. It sounds absolutely wonderful though, and works very easily. To me it was a matter of price/performance... The EX5 is known to have a few short-comings, but the Trinity has different problems, so follow your ears and your wallet is my suggestion...
