These past days were a bit troubled, both for Synthzone and my creativity, but it's finally over. I have recorded my first Rhytm and Blues: "Hold on, I'm coming" by Sam & Dave. (In my rendition Sam is a Tenor Sax while Dave is a Contralto Sax). The style and all the sounds are from my SD1, without any external help.
I would like to dedicate this song to our good friend Roel de Jong, hoping that he will like it. To tell the truth, Roel, I am not sure if you like Rhytm and Blues, but since we belong to the same generation, I think....yes? Great!
Comments, suggestions and critics are much appreciated, as usual.
Enjoy!
Andrea

I really like this one! The style and sounds from the SD1 are truly impressive, and you are obviously a fine artist.

Wow! Andrea,
I finally Did it right an got to listen to your song! It sounded very, very nice!
I play some R&B but I've never tried this one. I play more Country & Southern Gospel.
But I love music!
Now I can listen to the rest of your music!
Keep up my friend,
Nobby

Great song. Great job. Did you somehow do some double tracking? There seems to be more parts than available hands. You've inspired me to give that song a try myself. Thanks

Nice rendition. I would suggest a few BPM faster in tempo. Drums sound great also!

Thank you all for your words. It's really a pleasure to record songs for fine people like you.
Tom, I like big horns arrangements (the kind that really move air) and for this song I have recorded five horn tracks with different instruments (two trombones, two trumpets, etc), one organ track and one vocal track, plus a rhytm track, two sax tracks and a guitar track..... did I overdo a bit?
Donny, yes I too would have liked a faster tempo, but the original tune by Sam & Dave was even slower and I have tried to be faithful to the original as much as I could (I have even recorded the song in the original key of Ab: have you ever tried to play a solo in the key of Ab?) :-(
Thank you again and stay tuned (more to come.....)
Andrea
