Donny,

it is going to be an amazing lower end keyboard. Imagine how easily it will run out breath with all those sweet & cool & live voices. Not a big deal to me.

I agree Donny,
No doubt the S 500 is going to be a very good entry level keyboard. It is loaded with many styles from Tyros 2 (read the manual).

However, the lack of some features ( at least 64 poly, L/R outputs) make it unusable to me.

The PSR-S500 looks to be a winner.

My only gripe is that it doesn't have FINGERED ON BASS.

Ian, I'm hoping at least for a few NEW
NON Tyros 2 features/or styles in the PSR s900 to me interested...
I'm sick of changing brands
but if needed to accomplish the job I will definitly jump ship but my fingers are crossed.

Well Donny, the 3k had at least one feature the Tyros1 didn't have, that being the "USB to device" port, which turned out to be a deciding factor in my purchase.

I'm very happy with the 3k...light, does exactly what I need, easy setup/tear down and the right price for my budget.

If the PSR-S900 just has SA voices, and two "USB to device" like the T2, I'll be more than happy, and will probably buy one.

Ian I also love the 3k...for my gig needs many of which you mentioned....but I will be really sizing up the new S900, & Pa800, or?.....before I make a switch....we'll see soon enough ....I'm not a big fan of the SA voices vs the Sweet voices which are more then useful for my style of Playing & Singing...just give me what I need regarding on-board LIVE PLAY Navigational features that I need now & you got my money!

so the only output is from the headphone jack which will cancel the internal spkrs like othe lo-end Yams? I suppose
the next thing I'm going to find out is that there is no tap
tempo, that there is no dedicated transpose so i have to go into a menu and that there is no fade-out? Yech, keep it.

Mo,

According to the spec sheet, there's no vocal processor, mic input, modulation wheel, and lots of other stuff either--not for me!

You want them to give you all of these for $700? Forgetaboutit.

You missed the point. This is an entry-level keyboard.

Stagepas 500 might be the most interesting thing there. More power and bigger speakers could make it attractive to many of the arranger pros here for small gigs. I personally am using the Stagepas 300 for nursing homes and have been happy with it.
