anyone have any suggestions:

I tried a Rock N Roll style on the Korg, but I wasn't to crazy about it.

Thanks for you help, Mario

For Brown Eyed Girl, try a strong 8 Beat ...
.. possibly for Pretty Woman also ...
I can't be sure what styles you've got, I'm using a kn6000 ...
good luck ..

For Pretty Woman I agree that a strong 8 beat shuld be ok, although there might be a problem in that Pretty Woman has some 2/4 bars in it (if my memory serves correctly).

Brown Eyed Girl I play lighter, almost as a rhumba, which I think suits it quite well.

There is a Motown pattern on the Korg that has a great variation that suits "Pretty Woman", and I THINK it's the 3rd variation (C)
What you need is a snare drum hit on all four bets. That's the signature beat that you're missing.
For Brown Eyed Girl, you need to find an 8 beat that has a Bass drum hit on 1 and the "and" of 3. There's one in there somewhere ... I just forget what it's called.

You tried Rock and Roll for Pretty Woman but Rock and Roll is a shuffle beat (played in triplets). Pretty Woman is a straigth beat. The straight beat version of Rock and Roll is called Twist. Try a Twist and you will be much closer.

The absolute best style file for Brown Eye Girl can be found at http://psrtutorial.com/Files/gig_gary.html on Gig Disk #1. These are .sty files, and I'm not sure if you'll be able to convert them to Korg styles, but if you have that capability, you'll love what you hear.

Good Luck,

Gary

Dave's right again. Motown on the Korg i30 is what I use. I just skip the two beat bars and let the 4 beats per bar continue. It takes a bit of getting use to, but works fine. The other option is use a midi file.
