If you purchase an SD1 , it can be updated with new OS 4.0 .

I also believe that the guitar strum imulation is better on the SD1 vs. the VA76 or 9000pro .

When you listen to the Sd1 styles , guitar strums are all over the place . Acoustic guitar strums can be found on style 8beat 04 and 16 beat 01 . Ask a salesperson if they know how to isolate a part of the style .

Chord 2 of these styles have the guitar parts .

Also ...listen to the great vocal sounds and vocal drum kits ! They are very unique vs. the other keyboards .

See if your salesperson can add a volumne pedal and check out the wha -wha effect under the ON LINE EFFECTS button . Select a rock guitar sound and apply the wha - wha . It is a totally cool tool !

OH ...no vocal harmony kit or hard drive on the VA76 . A hard drive can be added to the 9000pro , but 6 gigs is already on the SD1 .

If you buy an SD1 , make sure the OS is at least 3.0b .

If the OS is not 3.0b , you know the keyboard has been in the stores inventory for a while . dano in baltimore

Luis, OS 4.0 for the SD1 should be released within one month and should include a lot of new features, so better wait a little more.
Re. keys feel: neither the SD1 nor the 9000 pro have a piano-like action; the choice is a matter of taste, because the keys are also shaped differently, so nobody except you can tell which one is better.
Maybe, if you could explain what kind of music you play or what your needs are we could help you more with your choice.

I'm pretty fussy about key feel, and I love a good, solid feeling under my fingers. The three kb's mentioned are different, but all share a strong, solid feel. The VA76 has the longest keys (I don't like that), but the pressure feel is better than average.
The 9kpro has the same keys as the TritonPro uses, in case you've played that model. I like the 9kpro keys alot - they take alot of "digging in" and handle it well. They just MAY be the loudest "mechanical" action of the 3, in case you record in a studio environment with live mics ..... just a FYI.
The SD1 has similar, but a bit smoother key action than the Yamaha. Matter of taste. Both are good - both are different, in their own way.

NONE of these three even remotely fells like a piano action. NONE of them....so please don't kid yourself. Is that what you are trying to find out? They are ALL synth/organ feel, but they ARE among the best feeling choices out there today.

Doesn't the SD-1 have Flash ROM OS? If so, who cares if he get old inventory, just update it? If not... bad news.

I've read that new styles will be also aded to the SD1 by the new OS?? or will the new keyboards come up with more "internal"styles ?...

Concluding... can I buy a SD1 now (and don't care about the OS installed in it)and then have all those new features just installing the new OS or should I wait for the new SD1 with more styles and more features?...

(Sorry for repeating myself but I didn't understand this...)

The new styles and features come with the new OS (4.0), but if you wait just 2 or 3 weeks you will have all these features installed directly on ROM, instead of having to load them from the floppy disk.

Cool!
Do you mean, even if I get a SD1 with a old OS, like OS3, I can load from the floppy disk the new OS 4.0 and after that the keyboard will be just like a SD1 bought already with the OS 4.0 ?
