My local music store has a PSR2100 on sale for the same price as a PSR1500. Which would be a better a deal, and why?

Starkeeper, I'd take the 2100. Granted the 1500 is newer, the 2100 still has some good features over the 1500. The 2100 will run multiple insert effects, and if I'm correct the 1500 only runs one. This makes a big difference when recording. Also the 2100 will give you the vocalizer. I honestly think the 2100 will handle polyphony better than the 1500. There was this thread a ways back I posted about a buddy of mine regarding poly issues. If it were me I'd take the 2100 without question.

Thank you jamman for posting that link. I read it and am even more confused.
I should have mentioned, that I don't need a vocalizer, since I can't sing.
Squeak_D,
Are you sure about the insert effects? That IS important to me.

I'd check with other members, but I almost certain that someone here told me a ways back that the 1500 only runs one insert effect. I'd suggest you go check out the manual

I still say go for the 2100. It won't be long now and I'll have a new keyboard myself

What??? What about your Casio? What model would you consider?

"I still say go for the 2100". Why?

I RYFM, but the only reference to insert effects, are the DSP numbers. There is a DSP1, DSP2, DSP3, DSP4. Not sure if these are the max effects. It doesn't say the PSR1500 has less then PSR3000. The manual for the PSR1500 is a combo PSR3000/PSR1500.
Hey, anybody know the answer to this question?

I have been reading these posts and I just got off the phone with the product manager at Yamaha and asked the question regarding how many dsp's on the 1500. The answer is.....the same as the PSR3000, plus......the polyphony on the PSR1500 is 96 which is completely dynamically allocated, which means you don't have some for the styles and some for the panel voices. All the polyphony is available for the whole keybaord.
Another addition over the PSR2100 for those who love playing drawbar organ sounds is the addition of 1 extra drawbar over the 2100 so there are now 9 drawbars.
If you want to get a PSR1500 I have several in stock and will do my best to beat any price you might have been quoted! Please Contact me!

WOW! Same as the 3000's????? That's awsome. Starkeeper I'm going to pull a John Kerry here and flip flop on this one You may want to consider the 1500 if it has an extra drawbar, and the same number of insert effects as the 3000. Hats off to yammie for that one.
