Hi

Does anyone have this in PDF format? Also called Volume 1 Of Over 1000 Songs. The was the first fake book done in 1949. The music was taken from Tune-Dex cards. There is generally 3 songs on each page. It should have about 369 pages. This book was generally not available to the public and often stated "For Professional Musicians Only," or something like that.

If anyone has this available, I'd sure appreciate a holler.

Thanx
Scott

Hal Leonard has been putting out fake books for over 60 years.
check them out at www.halleonard.com
I have some of their fake books but not the one you are asking about, I don't think. I have one drawer jammed and cant get it open because it is jammed full of music and books.
there was a post here on the forum a few months ago where you could download fake books in pdf form.
I have some of those in my back up computer. I have to boot it up and see. let you know later,
Bb

Thanx Guys

I am always checking out fakebooks.

Jerry, I believe that is the hard copy version. I have 3 copies myself. I am hoping to find it in PDF format so I won't have to do a ton of scanning, or if I use a laptop or MPP it will be easier to make the trasition.

I will have to see if I can find the post on the fake book download, Bebop.

Scott, the link Bebop is referring to is the one Eric gave you. I remember posting that link and BeBop's reply.

Scott, I have a fragile, yellowed old copy of that book given to me by a former partner when he got out of the business. Was going to loan it, but just saw that you have copies, too.

you're right...LOTS of scans...

This book was made available to me and members of the Yahoo groups Yamaha Style forum by one of it's members.

Here is the link to that forum. It is mostly a book of 1940's music and before. The old standards.
