I'm really diggin the ability to remix midi sequences with the PSR3000. This feature seems very intelligent, particularily since you can add multipads into the mix.


No quetsion that the score feature on the 3000 is very handy. Being able to have notes (score) in different colors is a good way to keep children involved and even help people like myself who do not read music well.

Just my 2 cents worth....

Just played a 4-hour job at a Son's of Italy in Baltimore using the 3000, they loved every minute, and despite the fact that most everyone there was over 65 years of age, and lots over 75, they spent a fair amount of time on the dance floor. As for being a kid's toys, I think they call them Rolands!

Again if you think your keyboard, or the sax sound, or the piano sound is keeping the folks happy, you're dead wrong.

Most of the crowd is more interest the tunes you do and the rhythm it is being preformed in. You don't have to even play all of the chords to the tune. As a matter of fact I even hear a few wrong chords on this site.

If you use a good style and sing fairly decently on key, and look happy doing it, you will be able to please many folks.

Of course being good looking will eliminate many of the above problems mentioned here.

Dave and others here could do tissue paper and a comb solos between their vocals and still be a success. Let's face it, some guys were born to entertain.

Dave really enjoys doing gigs. He could gig every night for the rest of his life and not get tired.

Gettin' old ain't fer wimps!

I played quite a few "gigs" .... then I decided to make them my living instead of just a livelyhood and my attitude (and the nomenclature) changed. It just seems less serious when people say the "G" word. I work hard at this craft and I look at it like a real, legit business. Somehow, the word gig sells it short to me. No offence to the millions of others that use the word freely.
