Anyone here besides me loosing their light on the LCD screen? My 01/WFD is 8 years old and it's display is fading fast. I contacted Korg and they said (in a roundabout way) too bad. So the deal is that we pay a lot of money for our synths and somewhere down the road the lights go out and we are STUCK!

So is anyone out there trying to find a solution for this problem....besides me???

Sorry, but electroluminiscent backlight has this disadvantage: The lighting fades out slowly with time.

The good news for you is that the 01W has a standard display (non-custom) and you can somehow easily find it somewhere and replace it (I did it with my T3's... it is really BRIGHT now).
