If I record a song on psr2000, vocals through the keyboard, playing to auto-accompaniment with a style, what is the difference in the two WAV files created? (One goes to Track 1, other to Track 2 in Fostex recorder.) They turn out to be same length, same file size. Differences?

Play a style, sing, record this on a Fostex digital recorder, MR-8. Stereo out from back of keyboard, right? Record L on Track 1 and R on Track 2. These are identical size but are they identical? Sorry, probably a dumb question.

Is the keyboard doing any panning of these tracks or other differences? Any difference or are they mirror images or what?

Hopefully, that makes sense.

Bill,

I would guess that one track is your Left channel and the other one the Right channel (if that's how you connected it).

Difference would depend on Pan settings (in Mixer Panel) of the instruments, one more to the left, other more to the right...

The size of the .wav files created doesn't depend on what's in it; it depends on the length of the recording and the sampling rate that is used, thus L and R will have the same filesize.

Darn, I knew that. Maybe it'll sink in this time.

So, anyone, is everything the same in them? In other words, is the keyboard pumping out indentical tracks through its Stereo Out?

Bill,
The answer is simple : The two tracks are completely different.

Your keyboard L & R channels in fact both are MONO ones. You record them as two mono's and if you want to get a stereo image while listening the PAN's of the two tracks need to be put opposite position.

So the topic title is not correct

I hope this helps.
