Ok this might seem the most evident thing on earth to most of you but here it is:

I am using a Korg iX-300 and Cakewalk 9. The synth isn't directly connected to the computer. Is there a way to get an instrument list (*.ins file) that matches up the one on my Korg iX-300 so that when I program something using cakewalk the instruments are the right ones on the synth.

Is this possible? or do I have to change the instruments on my synth each time after having programmed it with cakewalk. (if so how?)

Thanx,

Gorghor the total newbie!

There is already a GM map in Cakewalk that will play the correct sounds on your Korg, but the Korg GM set is not it's strongest sounds. If you can get the program change numbers for the "program" sounds - it will sound better. Better still - hook up the keyboard and send the correct change direct!
