Just purchased a 3000. I'm trying to use a Casio Privia 88 key as the controller for the 3k. I can get the Casio midi voices to play thru the 3000. That's all I can get it to do. What I really want to be able to do is play the 88 key Casio, make all style and voice changes at the 3000 so that I can use all the features of the 3000 . I also find the midi control panel at the 3000 very confusing. so I don't really know where I should be entering settings.

I have limited experience with midi, but I was able to accomplish the same thing with my CVP 107 Clavinova. Seems the midi in the Clav .
interface is much easier than the 3000.

First, hit function and go select midi menu. Next tab over to "midi in" functions and you will see that each part in the display is defaulted to say "song". This is for use with a computer sequencer. You want to select the very first part and change from "song" to "keyboard". Now you can play the styles, etc. from your Privia keyboard.
