can't beleive it , Aust. actually has the SD2 module & SD5 keyboard available already.( Not last for a change )
Picked up a little SD2 on Saturday to go with my One Man Band software & laptop. Quite pleased with the sound quality considering the price & size of the unit.
Sound quality is not as good as my SD1+ but I didn't expect it to be.
A lot of the sounds are similar to the SD1+ and quite a few of my SD1 midifiles play without the need for editing. Others will require a swap of instruments & some tweaking.
Luv the fact that it has Drum2 ( Ketron's Live Drums) which couldn't be played on a normal gm soundsource. Ketron even has drum midi loops available for download to use with the sd2, rythms such as chacha's, rock , jazz brushes, swing etc .
These will hopefully be useful for replacing some of the drum patterns in my OMB styles.

Exciting part for me is I now have a similar soundsource to my sd1+
(sd5 keyboard & sd2 soundmodule apparently have identical sounds)
Some of my SD1+ midifiles play back well , others will require a bit of tweaking & maybe I'll need to replace the odd sound here & there. Haven't really had the option of using another brand of sound module because of the " Live Drums" used in many of the sd1+ styles. It actually has 2 types of drums: the normal GM type drumsets
( midi channel 10) & the Live Drumsets used with the midi loops.

Wish Technics had done something similar ie a module for playing back Technics midifiles.
