Hello everyone!

I'm considering buying the Ultimate Apex stand for my keyboard (a Ketron SD1), to replace my Quiklok QLX-21. It's really the most beautiful stand I've ever seen.

I'm already aware of that "danger" if someone bump into the sides of the keyboard, but I'll be very careful about that.

The question is this: anyone using this stand with the same keyboard (Ketron SD1) could please tell me if it is safe to use the standard clamp and tribars? Or should I go with the long clamp and tribars?

I read about Scott Yee using the long tribars with the Tyros... but with the SD1, would the standard ones be OK?.

About this stand, now there's even a silver model!

Thanks is advance!

Luis Santos

The Apex will work fine with your SD1 , even if you use the standard bars..

Yes! It looks great and works great in most situations. Just be careful when you mount it on a surface which is not flat or rigid.

I used the Apex stand with the Tyros and both a Motif ES 88 and a Korg Triton Extreme 76 with no problems. Never had a balance problem nor an accident. Even when playing on the water!

I use the Apex with both the PSR2000 on top and a Roland VR-760 on the bottom - no problems using the standard tribars. (the 760 is a pretty hefty 76-key board too).

I have an X stand and a table-type. I always go back to the Apex because it's easy to use and transport. Lately I have only been using one keyboard and putting my laptop on the upper level - works great.

Hi Luis.

I used the Apex with SD-1 on top an 9000Pro on the botton without problems. Today I use only with Tyros, also without problem.
The only problem, like said José, is just you must be careful with the surface.

I use the Apex for my SD1 and it works fine. Easy set-up, built in handle, solid, and looks great.

Thank you all for your help!
I'm glad I won't need to buy the extra long clamp and tribars.

Maybe I'll get the new silver model + microphone adapter.

The mic boom is super. It's one less thing to have to cart around. Once you attach it, it can stay along the inner edge of the stand. Defiinitely are must for any Apex owner.

It looks nice, has some kool features but for every day gigging I still dont trust it .....plus when sitting and playing the middle bar blocks my vision to the audience especially with a second tier w/Laptop or other gear etc...good luck

I've actually dedcided to keep my Ultimate Support Apex Stand (at least for now). I continue to aprreciate it for its impressively sleek onstage appearence, especially complimentary with the Tyros.

I myself have found no problems with stability when performing.

I primarily reserve the Apex stand for larger venue stage performance, as for the daily quick gigs, it's more of a hassle to transport than my Quicklok stand is. I find the Apex offers the most impressive pro presentation. My main critism with the Apex is that, because I rely on using a 4 pedal foot controler box unit, it's not possible to solidly position the foot pedal unit so it can be anchored and secured (perpendicular to my feet) and to the stand's legs (to keep it from sliding). The other thing with this stand, is that, to avoid your head being obscured (from the audience) by the center column, one must be either standing, or seated on an elevated stool, when performing.

Sorry to ask it again... GlennT, do you use the standard bars with your SD1?

I really want to be sure that the standard bars will be OK, otherwise I'll buy the Apex with the long bars.

Thanks in advance

Could you please tell me what package are you talking about? Are you refering to "Apex Plus"?

There isn't a "Apex Plus" on the silver edition...

Thanks

Apex Plus is the package with the Super bars and the mic boom in adition to the Stand?

Or there is a package with Mic Boom and Super bars only, to add to an Apex Stand?

Thanks again.

The Apex Plus is the stand and the Super bars with the mic boom.

If you already have an Apex stand you can purchase the Super bar and the Mic boom as an option..

I'll order the Apex Silver Edition (it's the standard one) so I'll have to buy the mic boom as an option. There isn't an Apex Plus package on silver edition...

About the super long bars, I'll trust on GlennT and I'll use the standard ones (supplied with the stand)!!

Thank you all very much for your help!
