Team,

I have not in anyway forgotten about you (as some have asked) but just been rather busy in major projects. Ketron owners will be happy to know that I will soon be completing the optimization Vocalizer software for the SD1.

X-series:
A while ago, I had sent out some software for the Vocalizer for the X-series keyboards to some dealers (e.g George Kaye) a while ago. This software 'adjusts' the fields of the vocalizer on the X-series keyboards such that:
* Feedback was minimized (barely there and George can confirm this).
* Capability to trigger vocalizer only when complete chord was recognized.
* Capability to HOLD/sustain chord notes until next full chord was played (should be cotained in Rel 3.2 or higher).
* Freeze changes to vocalizer when accompaniment parts/sections are changed.
* Different versions (Male/Female settings) optimized depending on who was going to be the lead singer.

SD1:
I am curently developing a similar software for the SD1 and will be sending this to Dan O and George for review and distribution by end of the week. It will implement similar characteristics to those mentioned above.

This software WILL replace your current VOCALIZER settings, however they will optimize the performance of your Vocalizer (you'll want to store your current settings prior to loading these in should you want to resort to them in the feature).

Please contact the above dealers/me if you're interested (it's free).

UD: I figured out how to hold vocalizer settings while changing accom parts, reg etc on SD1. This will be incoorporated into the SD1 Vocalizer Software.

Thanks,

AJ

PS: Off topic - am I still one of the youngest in the group at 28?

As far as I know, the SD1 have the best
Vocalizer buildt in on a keyboard so far,
so maybe this will improve it furter....
I really like the SD1, but I struggled quite
a bit to get things going when I did a test-
ride some months ago.
Now there is a updated OS, but at the moment
there is not much discussion around it at this
forum anymore.......

I'll be looking forward to trying out the new software for the Sd-1 Vocalizer. Thanks
A.J.

I've got Version two software installed. I'm still getting a 'lock-up' on a couple of styles when I change registrations during the song. I can still play-but one of the voices is stuck on-and I've got to 'reboot'
to get rid of it. Its not a total 'freeze'
and it only happens if I hit the FS13 to change registrations when I'm still banging away at the keys. In other words -if I had a slight pause on the keys when I changed registrations - I would not have the problem.
I've gotten around it -for a polka, like 'Roll out the Barrel'- to use the volume pedal-for the right hand only-I just keep the same registration and adjust the volume pedal for vocals and solo. At this point, I don't know if its my operating procedure-or the fault of the particular style-or the SD-1 in general. Very Frustrating!! Other than the 'lock-up' problem, I'm really enjoying this keyboard.

Friends,

For those experiencing vocaliser problems (eg feedback etc), please contact either of the following members for a copy of the vocalizer software:

* George Kaye
* Tom C
* Harold

(Some of the enhanced features are listed above).
It now works for both X-series and SD1 keyboards.

Your feedback is ofcourse appriciated.

Thanks,

AJ
