Hi all,
For anyone who may be interested this is my latest, written for a song challenge on another board I go to. It came second (whooooooo yip yeeee)

Hope you like it.
http://www.tonywmusic.co.uk/mp3/bluesongs.mp3

BLUE SONGS
V1
I'm lonely on my own and yet you seem to think that's fine
Won't you please pick up the phone or maybe one time write a line
Or three to say, You're missing me today.
I wonder should I call you maybe that would make you mad
I'm thinking what would you do if I just called up a cab
And drove on down, to see if you're around.

CHORUS
I'm feeling crazy, I'm feeling blue
I stole the lines from Patsy Cline but then I sing them all for you
Why should I worry, You're in no hurry
To prove me wrong for writing blue songs over you.

V2
Today I stayed in bed and yet I did not sleep a wink
I tried to clear my head but all I did was start to think
Of how to say, I hate you treating me this way
Our friends called round to tell me that I'm acting like a fool
They're thinking that just maybe you intended to be cruel
And heartless so, I should really let you go.

CHORUS

All thoughts appreciated.
Best wishes
Tony

Burkels,
It is working fine at this end and I just got a friend to download it and he had no problems.

I notice in your post that there is a comma after the link to my site you posted. Still that should not make the link on my post not work so I am not sure what is going on??? Computers.... bah!
try this.....
http://www.tonywmusic.co.uk

hope that works for you.
Best wishes

No, the comma wasn't the problem. In the local DNS's here, there simply is no www.tonywmusic.co.uk . I just checked the most reliable DNS in this country, being 194.109.6.66 and 194.109.9.99 (belonging to XS4ALL here in The Netherlands) and that DNS does not know your domain either. Something's wrong there I'm afraid.

Tony......Great job, I enjoyed it very much.
Your signature minor chord structure style is so apparent and clear. Sounds like a fun project to combine ideas with someone else while creating a song.I'd like to try it sometme also. Thanx for sharing!

Must have been some weird DNS-sync-hickup here in The Netherlands. I can access your site now too.

Tony,
a very nice tune! I listened to it with real pleasure and I am left with a desire to listen more. The recording quality is very good too, with crisp and clear vocals.

Hi All,

Thankyou very much for the listen and glad you all enjoyed it.

Burkels,
Glad there was not a problem with my domain registration. You had me worried there for a while!

Don,
There is more than a little country in my soul! I can't listen to 'Elusive Dreams' without crying (Big softie that I am). One of my fave songs of all time.

Dreamer,
I have been working hard to try to improve the quality of my recordings. It is great to hear that this comes across as crisp and clear. Did you recognise the 9000pro? When I can make mine sound like you make yours sound I will be a happy man!

Donny,
Ha ha! Signature minor chord structure! Makes me sound like a pro! Others (not as gentlemanlike as your good self) might say all my songs sound the same

Benno Zleepy and Bebop,
Many thanks for your kind words. It means a lot to me that people actually liked something I did. Never fails to give me a buzz.

Best wishes to all
Tony

Thanks kn2600,
I use a yamaha 9000pro. I am anchoring after a Tyros but think I might wait to see what the new 3000 is like first.

How do you like the kn2600? I was a Technics man myself for quite a while owning the kn5000, and 6000. I still quite miss the 6000. A great shame that Technics are no longer making boards. Bad news for us all that no matter what brand we use.

Best wishes
Tony

Thanks DJ,
I appreciate the listen. We both have our own unique sound and style I guess Sorry Pal but I keep practicing 'belting it out' as you suggested last time but am not getting very far. Think I could do with some of your lung power

Mind you it probably does not help that I can't give up the ciggies. (Wow I bet I'm going to get some flack for admitting that )

Best wishes

Hi Tony, finally had a chance to listen to your latest number: Blue Songs. Your imaginative lyrical wit continue to impress, and I really like your piano solo intro & break as well. Keep the songs coming. - Scott

Again..I am very impressed with your work Tony...I just ordered a KN2600, I should be getting it in a few days. So why did you quit using Technics and went to Yamaha?

Tony W ... Last evening I finally got to hear some of your work ... "Blue Songs" and "Stiff Upper Lip" and I really enjoyed both ... looking forward to hearing more ...
... And don't be concerned about 'belting it out' ... not all successful singers do that, and if you try it may take away from the unique sound and quality of your voice ...

Hi Scott,
Many thanks for listening and am really pleased you enjoyed 'Blue Songs'

Am currently working on a song about a bull who has to move on because the cow he has been courting only has eyes for the bull in the next field! Mad I know but who knows it may work!!!! I think I'm calling it Moooving on

KN2600,
I'm sure you will enjoy the new board when it arrives. Technics stuff never failed to impress me. Don't forget to post a review of your new board when it arrives.

I am loathe to say why I changed to Yamaha because it usually starts a flame war. I changed over because Technics consistently refused to include a decent usable vocal harmoniser on their boards. They did include a harmoniser but I have yet to meet anyone who could use it effectively. Most of the competition had been including this feature for at least three boards back and getting it right. I just got sick of waiting for technics to catch up. To keep on including the useless harmoniser they did was, I felt, an insult to their loyal customers. I would have even understood if they had left it off alltogether and said "Look guys we make keyboards not harmonisers". But that is another story. I still miss some of the cool features Technics had but enjoy some of the stuff on the Yamaha that technics don't have! The only way round it is to have both

Best to you
Tony

Hey Tony,
So sorry I did not see that you had snuck a post in there whilst I was replying to the others.

Many thanks for having a listen. Glad that you liked 'Blue Songs' and 'Stiff Upper Lip'

I too have come to the conclusion than my voice sounds better quiet. In fact it sounds best when you press the MUTE button
Best wishes to you Tony and thanks again for visiting my site.
