Okay,
Do not laugh!
How can I change the Reverb Type in the song edit mode?
The cursor seems to only scroll between the reverb parameters and there’s no way to scroll to reverb type. It is annoying! :LOL

Okay,
My wife just figured it out.
Turns out I had to go to the "connect menu".
Darn, this stuff is really simple once you read the manual!

Would anybody know how to use the arpeggiator in the song mode?
Is there a way to automatically dial up the arpeggio settings for the desired part?

You can use the arps in song mode. Select the track you want to apply the arp to. Press the record button. Select Rec Arp (f4 button)if you want to record the arp data, then select "RECARP" and turn it on.

Press Arp (F3 button). Select the arp you want to use and other details ( velocity limit, whether or not you want the arp to hold when you release the keys, etc.

By the way, you can store up to 5 different arp setups for instant callup. After you set up your arp, simultaneously press and hold the Store button and the arp button that you want to save to ( 1-5 ) . You can do this 5 times with different seups for instant recall.

Hope this Helps,

AJ

Oh and.. btw.... You'll still need to turn on the arp via the the arp button ( on - off button ) at the top of the kb.

Hey AJ,
I did as you suggested.
However, even by selecting the same settings I cannot get the same results as I do in the single mode. There’s one program for example Pre 6.009 (A09) “Vanilla”.
Even though I dial up the same settings for the arp and FX I don’t get the same thing happening.
You ever came across this problem?
Could it be that I’m missing a couple of settings that deal with the output of the Arp?
I’ll mes with templates some more. The reason why I want to use the Arp is because a lot of my own sounds rely on the Arp to emulate Wavestation and Wave sequencing/Wavetables.

I'll try it out and let you know Ed. BTW, after you record your arp data into the sequencer, for proper playback, turn the arp off ( button on top ) , or sometimes it doesn't play right.

BTW, you're welcome to email me and I can call you or you can call me anytime. Might be easier to walk through some of this stuff that way.

I definitely notice a difference. I'm guessing that this has to do more with the DSP effect settings than anything else.

You can make custom effect settings that mimic the panel ( voice mode ) voice and store in the sequencer, but this is where I always felt the Motif seqeucner was weakest, because the dsp settings don't seem to completely translate from voice mode to song mode.

I have to do this some of this mainly from memory and then trial and error, ( lol )because I rarely use the song sequencer, although I do use the pattern sequencer a bit.

Thanks Aj,
I always know that I can count on you.
Next time I'll just e-mail or call.
At first I also thought that the problem may be related to different FX being used. SO I bypassed everything and still noticed the same difference.
I got some interesting results by messing with knobs )Arp FX) but only got close.

I will definitely mention this to CHarmane Denisson from Yamaha. Hopefully she knows what the answer to that puzzel is.

In a way it is good that we both found the same problem since I originally thought that something is wrong at my end. Looks it it is just some internal bug that got overlooked by Yamaha.
