I can hardly believe it. I am not the guy who has lucky things happen, generally speaking. But do an advanced search on ebay for finished auctions on psr 3000 and tell me if you think I did good
My 2100 will be for sale soon most likely.

I didn't do your suggested search, but I can say that the 3000, IMO, is worth paying retail. It is a player's dream and sounds great.

Have fun.

Is there more than one finished auction from today?
Anyways...$660 and free shipping....Can't beat it with a stick...
Can't believe my good luck finally getting a chance to own one.

Isn't that a little cheaper than it should? Don't want to raise any suspicions here but...

Well, it was only a one day auction. I came upon it with just one hour left and it only had 4 bids. top bid was 600 and I placed a bid for 800 and got it at 660. It all seems legit. The guy has good feedback, an ebay store with recent sales and recent good feedback.
I agree the price is very low. But I feel safe and very very lucky. I'll let you all know when I receive it.

You're right Mike the pics are the same.
But often people use others pics and info to make their listings easier. I searched and found the sellers web page at this link http://groveantiques.com/

I still feel safe. I definitely thank you for your concerns. I know when "something seems too good to be true...etc.."
But then again, if you don't take a chance sometimes......
You snooze you lose is another common saying.

You better be careful, too good to be true, I've trying to get a psr3000 for some time on ebay with no luck, price was almost the same of retail stores (around $1500), because my credit is too new, and my favorite on line store americalmusical didn't carry anymore, I haven't bought one yet. Seems like psr3000 is the most desire piece of arranger keyboard these days.

If that is your feedback I see as the winner I know you are an experienced eBay user and have taken all the precautions you should. I also looked at his feedback and his store.
The only thing I would do to satisfy myself is to contact him through the ebay mail system or the email he has listed on his store site which is I think is an aol address , and different from the one I see in the auction.
I would use all the protection ebay and paypal has to offer.
I'm sure you're gonna love that board let us know.

Mike,
Actually that is my fiances great feedback....she buys a lot of lampwork beads, silver, and other things and makes and sells wonderful jewelery....thus the "fairy*works" user name. It is the name of her business. I am certainly no fairy, lol, not that theres anything wrong with that, as Seinfeldt stated on one of his classic shows.

I had to make the plug for Heidi's,(my fiances) wonderful jewelery just in case anyone would like to buy their sweetie something nice

One day sale? Same pic? UK shipped from US? Previous sales delivery extra, free on this one? A personal email link, not good at all, an ebay violation by itself. Buy it now on a one day sale?? Free shipping, then states email for shipping terms? Previous auctions had the standard buy it now option, not this one. Complete change in auction appearance. Very bad sign. I've done a LOT of buying and selling on ebay. I would talk to this guy on the phone asap. I would contact him throught the link in the description and also use ebays contact seller. It may be 2 different email addresses and two different people!

Use the "get contact info." The real sellers phone number should be listed.

Then, you ought to be able to sniff it out. I would contact ebay about all the above detials before sending any money.

It is possible that someone hijacked anothers site. I have reported, correctly to ebay many bogus keyboard auctions. What I see here has ALL the red flags. Every one I reported was removed by ebay.

But then again, it's possible you lucked out. But, to be honest, I don't believe it by a long shot, unless a different family member or business partner did the ad and had no previous experience.

If paid for with a postal money order, you have some protection, in that if it's a bad deal the feds will pursue the guy.

I wish you luck.

Scott

OldNewb, I make no judgements...not that there is anything wrong with that. No really I figured it was either business or hobby related.

Are you paying with paypal? Have you had any contact with this guy other than the email he had at the top of the auction?
Ya know we all wanna see ya get that good deal
but we have read the horror stories of other members that got burned.
And we, of course don't want to see that happen.

DNJ, Mike, and all,
I do not know yet what to say about this as it is not a totally done deal yet.
The money end was handled through paypal.
It has not yet been claimed by the sellers paypal account, which is strange. none of this transaction went anywhere except the ebay sellers paypal account, and is as yet unclaimed. The extra listed email account in the auction has nothing to do with paypals pay for it now button.
I did not do anything through that e-mail.

There is no way of knowing, just by looking, if the previous ended auctions with the free shipping are by the same seller, or why they were closed or by who.
None of those auctions state anything about "Buy it now" as Scott says.
I appreciate Scotts concern but all of the facts he states are not true. And his reply being the most foreboding (With only best intentions I'm sure) I feel it is overly biased almost witch-hunt-like.

This may well end up being a no-sale, and I appreciate all concerns, continue to feel free to state them.
I am taking all the safeguards I can.
I will let all know of any developments but they may not be real quick in coming.
Thank you all,
OldNewb

PS. definitely wont give up my 2100 until a 3000 arrives

Hi OldNewb

Yes, you guessed it. I am using my experience on ebay to assist you so that you end up in good shape.

If you look closely at that auction, you will notice everything I mentioned is there. I strongly recommend you do the few things I suggested. This would really be being safe rather than sorry.

As far as the Buy It Now on previous auctions, I am talking about going to the feedback of the guy you bought this from. In previous auctions he used the ebay buy it now option. In your 3000 auction, he did not, but he says to use the email address in the description to email him about a buy it now price and to find out about shipping terms, after he states shipping is free on this one unlike any of his previous auctions.

I hope this all works out well for you, BUT, I would contact ebay asap and see what's what.

If I had seen this auction, from my experience in buying and selling big ticket items on ebay, I definitely would not even consider buying from this type of ad. What I would have done is to have reported that auction to ebay, and I gaurantee you that auction would have disappeared. Ebay would have yanked it.

The ball is in your court, I wouldn't wait around to see what happens on this one.

I hope I am wrong about all of this, but, again from my experience, this auction is not for real.

Scott

Scott,
Thank you. You and everyone here I have mucho respect for. You are all really fine
Honerable men with good hearts and souls. Proud to share a stage with any of you anytime.
That being said....
The deal is a no-sale.
Spoke with the ebay account holder by phone....then called Ebay....and then Called PayPal....
Paypal blocked payment and will be returning all funds later today.
Well...it is another case of if it seems too good to be true it probably is...
But I did not risk anything to anybody who did not appear legit.... The paypal monies were left unclaimed by the seller because he knew he was not selling that item.
Now, If I had contacted the inserted e-mail addy I am sure HE would have tried to scam me. I am also sure I would have recognized it beforehand. Heidi and I are not newbies to ebay as you noticed perhaps by all the feedback for fairy*works My fiances ebay username.

Ok, just received our funds back from paypal.
We are out nothing the transaction has been reversed...

I guess it will be a while before I can get hands on a 3000.
Back to the floppies for a while yet I guess.

You all take care, It is a jungle out there.
My (and Heidi's) best to you all,
OldNewb
Jim
