No such button. The best diagnostic tool would be to plug in a headset and make sure there is something coming out of the headphone jack. If it is, then check the RCA outs. If they work, then the problem is likely the leaf switch contacts within the headphone jack are not making contact.

The problem is this:
Donny sold his PSR3000. Before he shipped it, he did a factory reset.
After the buyer received it, when he turned it on there was no sound from the kb or the headphone outs.

Donny probably did a test after the factory reset (to verify that it was reset) so it might have been the bumpy ride during transit.

Does the 3000 have a 'Volume' plug in the back? You know, a place to plug in a volume or expression pedal? Is there a foot switch plugged in to this plugin by mistake?

Happened to me once. I accidently plugged in one of my foot-switches into the volume plugin and the end result...no sound. I went bonkers trying to troubleshoot it and laughed when I finally found it.

Actually, I think he did not test it after resetting. He has Gary on the phone with the buyer right now. Maybe they can figure it out.

Mike,
The 3000 does not have a designated volume pedal input, but has 2 pedal inputs that can be assigned to various functions.

You may be onto something there ...
when the person 1st received it, was there sound, initially.

If Gary is talking to the buyer, he probably has covered these, but the Troubleshooting guide says:

The Fade In/Out button might be on, muting the sound.

Make sure the LOCAL CONTROL button is set to ON

All keyboard parts are set to OFF. Use PART ON button to set to ON

Master volume may be set to low.
(never know on this one. If he's using a volume pedal and did not turn the master up)

I just talked to Donny. Gary had the buyer open up the case. It had a broken ciruit board, so the guy is shipping it back to DNJ and he will get it repaired. Evidently it happened in shipping.

The small printed circuit board that houses the headphone jack was broken. I had the buyer open the board, and the screws had come out of the PC board and the board had actually snapped in half. The board is not very expensive, and easily replaced. Hopefully, DNJ's service outfit, Russo Music, can take care of the problem quickly, and inexpensively.

Good Luck,

Gary

Not in the PSR-3000. That feature, if I recall correctly, is in the PSR-1500. Unfortunately, the instruction manual covers both keyboards, therefore it appears as both have this feature, when in reality it only applies to the 1500.

Cheers,

Gary
