Hi Group,

Can anyone tell me an easy way to convert a SMF file to a Yamaha Song? I'm not very technical in the ways of MIDI.

What software is available. Can this be done on the T2 itself?

Thanks
Don

Hi Don, the Yamaha should play SMF with no conversion. If you are wanting it to be an XG file, I think there is software that will do that. You might look at www.psrtutorial.com
Btw, we here in North Louisiana are now getting that nasty weather that you had recently.

Thanks DonM,

I'm trying to acomplish this:

When I play a Yamaha song (from the presets) the chord changes are displayed in the main screen.

When I play files other than Yamaha, they play OK, and even display lyrics if available, but on the main screen does not display chord changes.

I think the chord data has to be embedded in the file. I don't think it just shows up in any file. But at the site Don mentioned I think I remember software that used to convert the chords in a midi file. But I can't remember the name.

PSRUTI will detect the chords, and add Yamaha Chord events.

It does work.
