Hi guys, I have submitted one of my songs for a collection of recordings made on an Akai DPS recorder.(Akai Dps users are called "Deepsters" and this collection is called either "Deepsing" or "Deeper IV",as it is the fourth collection of DPS recordings.) Bill, I love your song! The arranger part (style and electric piano comping) is very fitting, but to me the best parts are your voice and your guitar (a Stratocaster?) I would say that you are first and foremost a guitar player, but you play very well also your keyboard.
May we have more, please?

Terry , I LOVE my Akai! I have the DPS16, which is sadly discontinued,but I got a great closeout deal of $899. The replacement DPS24 is very sweet but still pricey at this time. One of the great things about the Akai is the wonderful online Yahoo! support group, which put together these collections. The members there are much like what you find here at SynthZone--- friendly, helpful,and fun.
Please do check out the other recordings, there is a lot of talent there. I reccomend "Kangaroo Boy" by Chris Hales and "I'll Always Want You" by Paul Rayfield and Rob Cain.

Bill, had a listen to both of the tunes you suggested....didn't care much for Kagaroo Boy, but loved I'll always want you. I keep getting more impressed by the clarity of the recordings on the Akai. That may be my next recorder. How is it for user friendliness?

Why would you change ? I thing you have a Yamaha AW4416, one of the best digital recorder .
I just read a report in Keyboards Home Studio (french magazine) over Akai DPS 24 and the conclusion was :

Sound quality : 18/20
Ergonomy : 13/20
Quality rice : 15/20

If you want the total report, let's say it !

Very good work...I love especially the simplicity and the clarity in this recording.
BTW, which pedal or effect are you using with your guitar ? It was and it is one of the favourites registrations of Hank Marvin , "The Shadows".
