Eric and Nigel,

Hopefully the winds will shift and the fire will put itself out. Keep your fingers crossed and stay out of harm's way. Homes can be replaced, lives cannot.

Gary

Woooow,

you guys are good.

The fire did come pretty close for a while, about 60 feet to the first home.
We were very scared there for a while.....

Helicopters and about 1000 firefighters are still working relentlessly.
They were able to push the fire that was coming from the south back, but there is still a fire coming from the east. And we are right in the middle.

Right now we are safe, but the winds could pick up again tonight (which they kind of expect).
We are curently staying put and are ready for anything if it comes to that.

Thank you, thank you, thank you.....
For all your prayers.
I could feel each one of them, and boy there were many..... And yes they worked....
You guys rock.

I'm so greatful to be part of this great family. You guys bring tears to my eyes.

And so I'm saying a prayer of thanks and greatfulness to all of you; Fran, Tom, Russ, Don, Tony, Chico, Andrea, Scott, Rikki, Gary and all of you that prayed but diidn't post.

Eric

HI Eric,
I just now saw your post here. I had seen the fires on TV this evening and we wondered if they were anywhere near those of you that we know down there.
Rest assured that we too are praying for all you people there. We have a red alert here too with off shore winds and temps at 80 F, and all our fire people are on full alert.
Best to all of you down south of us.

Thanks so much for all your concern and support. I think it was much scarier for Eric and Claudia. We are lucky to be close by the beach so the flames are unlikely to get to this side of the freeway. But when I got back home tonight the air is thick with the smell of smoke. It must have been very close for a lot of people that lived closer to the hills. It seems well under control now but was completely out of control early today.

In Southern California if it's not an earthquake or a wildfire then its a mud slide. But for some unknown reason we all insist on living here. Gotta be a bit crazy to live around LA I guess
