This is quite an old synth, part of the heart of the M1 with no frills. It does me very well but I'm getting fed up with Dynopiano. Any idea where I can find editing software/new sounds?

X5 is incredible...not only does it have the M1 sounds but just about all of the other Korg synths up to that time too. Go to KORG on the Synth Zone Korgg page for a zillion sounds for the X5.

My X5D came with a editor/librarian as well as additional sound banks on disc.

I believe Sound Quest, the makers of Midi Quest has a sound editor/librarian for your model. Pro-Rec also sells sound programs and combis for the unit.

I was half right. Sound quest does make an editor for the X5. Pro-Rec apparently does not have sound programs/combis for the X5. I was thinking of the 05/RW. Perhaps the synth engine and samples are identical. Sorry about the error.
