How can I charge the battery on the XP?

Is there a separate GEM midi file catalouge available from the US rather than from Italy?

Thanks

Will

Hi Wil , the battery automatically gets charged when you switch the unit on !!
If it is flat leave the unit on for a few hours .

I know of no USA Brochure of midi files and styles for the Gem .
Only the ones issued by the Italian company .
If this is not the case will some body please let us all know .

The choice of 3rd party styles is poor !!
unlike the other major brands !!

regards ...........giovanni

Hi Will,

It is my understanding that the battery should be charging when the XP is turned on. I am unaware of any other means of charging it.

Also, the European site for midis and styles speciffically for GEM (Music Media Soft) is the only one I'm familliar with. I have researched this fairly well and Can't come up with any US sources. However, just for general midis I think there are numerious sites. You might check out some of the other forums and ask the same question. I know there are many sites devoted to Yamaha that offer free midi downloads which should work on the XP. And you know you can convert midis to GEM songs on the XP.

Hope this helps,
Don

Hi Giovanni,

We must have posted our responses to Will's question about the same time. I have your e-mail and will answer soon.

Will, there is a site in the yahoogroups.com called making styles you may want to check out. Someone over there converted several BIAB styles for GEM (more than 600). I've tried a cople and they work fairly well. Don't know if they all will.

Regards,
Don

Hi Group,

Tommy, thanks for sharing. I found that site some time ago and at that time there wasn't anything for GEM. Apparently the GEM Genesys stuff is new. There are about three pages of styles and songs for Genesys. Check it out! www.D-O-O.com. We still need a US source.

Thanks again Tommy,
Don

I would suggest we try to reach all USA GEM users and have them send Emails to GEM Italy to get off the stick. The long & the short of it is these are great machines we need more FUEL!!!!!!!!! (STYLES)We need styles from a more convenient source.

I'll bet Dave M has some great tweaked Styles and sounds he would love to share with us. (HINT)

Lastly there is a market here that could produce a secondary income stream, I'm not talented enough to start producing styles but some one in the Synthzone is,

Jerry
