versus using a Rock-N-Roller type kart or similar type of transporting device?.....

I have seen people carrying keyboards under their arms "No Cases" making 20 trips back and forth wires dragging all over etc etc ....just wondering how you transport your gear....I personally only use a Rock N Roller multi kart on almost every gig....which lets me make only ONE trip in & out...I wont leave home without it....one of the best investments a musician can make.

How do You do it?

I use a hand truck that lays out flat and the handle is waist high. I decided a long time ago, if it doesn't fit on the cart, I really don't need it. It's one trip and one trip only baby.

Joe I used to use that type rig also BUT ......everything would always slide off the back due to nothing there to hold the gear on back...thats the beauty of the RnRoller kart.....doing this every day its a pleasure to roll.

For my part time gigging this does the trick, I use 2 long bungee cords to hold everything in place.( one trip only )

I use the rock 'n roller for everything. When I'm not gigging, I use it in the yard to move bags of mulch, pavers, etc.

I would use it to get to the train station to go to work in the morning, but it's all uphill! ;-)

Fran,

You are only in the "big league" when you can afford roadie...or roadies.

My roadie doesn't drink or do drugs, and is also a terrific keyboard technician...I really lucked out.

Certainly makes life easier for a lazy guy like me.

In Quebec this week, there was a street performer playing sax ... when he finished, he packed up his mp3 player (backing files), CDs, the stand the CDs were on, amplifier, and other odds and ends, strapped them to his BICYCLE with bungee chords and off he went ...

Everything goes into the van by hand. Everything comes out of the van by hand. Sometimes there are 4 or 6 hands. Sometimes there are only two. I do have a hand truck I used to use, but the problems with them are well known. No R&R cart in the foreseeable future.

Hey Bruno123, is the guy in that picture above your 'Manuel'? (private joke - to figure it out see the buy&sell forum).

Tony you need to be there more then a few months and sink your teeth into the culture.....not on some tourist vacation at some high falutin hotel in the city....live & feel the "REAL" Italian people & culture and the let the essence of Italia seep into your veins.....

Right now the plan is 1 month, touring the country on our own ... the first trip by tour bus was the right way to go for the first time ... saw a lot, learned a lot ... this time it is to EXPERIENCE a lot ...
