Hello

I have some dixieland gigs coming up and could really use some good dixie and old kick swing styles. These are needed for 3 hours straight of only dixie so am needing a pretty good variety to spice things up.

Please send email to

scott_langholff@yahoo.com

Thanx
Scott

Me too....
If anybody has these styles and is feeling generous I would be very happy if I could also receive them (Tyros 2).
I also have the KN7000 with some very good Dixie styles but I can't migrate them to the Tyros 2.
regards
Keith

There are some Dixiestyles made by Mart
Weeho to download for G70. If you are able
to convert them to a Tyros they could be
usefull. But tweaking and editing must be
done, I think.

Thanx Wis, No I don't have a conversion program for that. Maybe someone else has already done that?

Scott,

Just curious, What tunes are you planning to use to fill up 3 hours of dixieland?

Thanx guys

As far as what tunes would I play to fill 3 hours? That would be relatively easy for me. Dixe and swing were my first loves for music when I was in about kindergarten.

My dad gave me his old portable crank phonograph when I was quite young along with 78's of Wingy Manone. Probably why I took up trumpet.

In 3rd grade for Christmas I graduated to an electric portable phonograph with 45's of the Firehouse Five Plus 2 and Bob Scobey.

My dad also had a very popular territory band that leaned heavily on dixie/swing. Even the polkas they did (Wisconsin, ya know), were played as dixie polkas rather than the typical "chip" throwing contest music.

Started my first band in 7th grade. Of course it was a dixieland band.haha

As far as tunes, I have a ton of them. Any standard swing tune from the 20's, 30's and 40's can easily done in dixie.

Here's a list of some of the possibilities that I had pulled up off my Music Finder along with some of the codes I use:

I like New Orleans Jazz and Dixieland very
much and I think it is very special that you
are playing this kind of music on a keyboard. Are there real bands too? And so if what do they think about your music?
