Hi,
Because I want to have a security (backup) CD of all software I own, I wanted to do the same for Native Instruments B4.
The CD however has a 'dirty' copy protection : Two 1mm holes in the surface.
'Normal' copying is not possible and the source disk will be ejected halfway the burning process.
BUT : After I created an image first, and ignored the read errors and THEN burned the image to disk.......... ALL WENT FINE !
(WINONCD 3.7)

What Roel got sounds logical, since, where the holes are, there is obviously no data.

Will try the method with the suspicion that the program Roel is using for reading and burning is a major factor, since it allows for ignoring read errors.

Will see if Roxio does it too and will post results.

Fran,
I did several installs using the 'copy' CD and there was not one single problem at all !
My PC HDD was re-fomatted many times because of upgrade/downgrade sessions from WIN98 to ME to WIN98 to WINME to WIN98 to WINXP to WIN98 to WIN2k to WIN98 !!
The original B4 disk is stored on a safe place.

I did a 'test-run' on my 2nd PC too..... and it worked as well. ;D

Dear Friends, I also would like to have a backupt of my B4 CD. But my Roxio CD copier aborts the copy process. I tried at two computers. In the one with Windows Xp, it even locks it up. The WinOnCD mentioned must be different in that it allows 'ignore error' when copying to image. WinOnCD is refered as another Roxio product. Will wait on the issue unless someone has some other tips or I can get the WinOnCd software. Thanks, Roel.
