Tony,

You have come a long way since the storm. Is the roof poured concrete? Hard to tell from the photos. The walls now appear to be 16 or 20-inch concrete block, which would pretty much make it hurricane proof--especially with all the reinforcement in the photos.

Good Luck, and I hope to visit before too long.

Gary

Tony:

Lots of photos! That construction reminds me of a building that was in Providence, Rhode Island not too far from where I use to live. The building was high rise low income housing built in the late 40s. The plan was to bring it down with an implosion in the early 90s. It became a media event, half the population of the entire state of RI was watching. Well there was so much reinforcement and concrete construction that the implosion just made a boom, nothing crumbled. Short story is they had to slowly demolish it with a wrecking ball.

Your building looks like it can with stand that kind of force. Best wishes and good luck to you.

Hi Tony,

Good pictures of your rebuild. It will really be nice when you're finished. How long before you'll be up and running?

The construction methods are interesting. I especially liked the temporary ceiling supports. Good job!
