Thank you everyone so far for voting on the Tyros poll, seems as expected there is a lot of interest in this new keyboard!

I have establshed a new discussion group for the Tyros keyboard, as part of the SVPworld/PSRworld "network". The group intends to offer a forum not only for sharing Tyros files and songs, but also for discussing issues related to the keyboard. I hope it will appeal to owners, possible future owners and those generally interested in the new keyboard.

To join or visit the group please visit :

Simon,
Would love to join, as you know I have a Tyros on order with George....but I have had such miserable experiences with the Yahoo forums, I'm going to have to pass, sorry. Pop ups, buried software, changes preferences to start sending junk mail automatically, constant sign in....again sorry.

Ok no problem, though you dont need to have email delivery of messages (you can read them at the site). Also its worth setting up a hotmail type email address for these forums, incase of the "as mentioned" junk mail problems.

Simon

Simon,
I do have hotmail....what I was talking about is Yahoo specific....when you set up preferences when signing up, they ask is it ok to mail all kinds of junk to your E mail (not the notifications of postings) and so one checks no thank you very much.....fine then if you go back in and check intermittently all of a sudden ever thing is checked yes send me all the junk from Yahoo and whoever else you want to give my E to. So you uncheck everything and keep checking now and again and one day, it's all checked yes again.

Yahoo just admitted not to long ago also about imbedding spyware in one's computer when one signs up for their things.

Bottom line for me is I think Yahoo is a bunch of bottom feeders.

Hi Terry,
Agreed. All my SPAM problems seemed to start after I tried to join a Yahoo group and I have tried to keep clear of any groups sponsored by them.
It's a pity that these Spammers should be allowed to spoil such an oportunity to carry out normal friendly contact with people of like interests.

Derek,
As you can tell I'm not a huge fan of theirs...greed I suppose is at the bottom of it. It's not enough to have the adds and the banners, they want more.

You're also right in that it is a shame that they have to interefere to such a great extent that it turns people who want to share away. I understand and agree that they need to make a living and are entitled to do so, but they go overboard.

George,
Not much happening there yet...someone posted it last week and I joined it, but they have tumbleweed blowing over there.

Do you know, does Yammy have something to do with it like Moitfator.com?

I use my Yahoo address for the forums. Any Spam goes there, and most of it is automatically sent to a Bulk Mail folder and automatically deleted after a time.
I always elect to not receive the mail from the forums. Instead, I visit the page and read the messages there. Yes, you will have to deal with popups. I can't believe popups are effective, because everybody hates them. I would NEVER even read one, much less buy anything because of one
I had to reset my mail preferences with Yahoo only once, about six months ago. So far it had not changed again.

Donm,
I use a free program called Popup Stopper. It blocks most popups. The only problem is when you want to see a popup: you have to disable "Popup Stopper" then re-engage afterwards.

Don,
Unless they've changed their ways in the last year....you're about due for the auto preferences change, so keep an eye on it.

Star,
Pop up stopper works great,(I have it too) ......except it does not stop the popups at Yahoo, when you click on a post and they put the popup as part of the message, which they do, it shows up with the post.
