Thanks for the link. I thought that the PSR1500/3000 couldn't be upgraded via software. This is good news.

What do they mean by "root directory" of the Smart Media card?

The root directory is the main part of the smart media card, Other words, store the files on the smart media main part(first window that you see when you open it up in windows explorer) and not in any folders or sub-folders...

Think of your harddrive, When you first open your harddrive C: That is the root directory...

Hope you understand.

I don't think it would really matter, But I suggest to be on the safe side, Back the data up and do it with a clean drive...

I not sure if you can use Pen drive for update, It only states smart media on website...

A old saying I hear sometimes, If it not broke, Don't try to fix it...

This update says it fixes some bugs, What bugs are those.

This is great news!! Don't know if this update will change anything for me but I'll give it a try anyway..

This just make you wonder how many other yamaha keyboards could actually be updated...

It was amazing. After I downloaded the update I had the following new features.

Dedicated effects on/off button
Dedicated harmonizer on/off button
Dedicated echo/harmony on/off button
Natural voices from CVP keyboards
Something sturdier than Smart Media
Improved harmonizer with more realistic harmonies
On preset styles, associate them with suitable multipads instead of Live Drums being the default multipad setting for almost every single style
More footswitch capability.
Vocal volume control knob right up front similar to Tyros.
Supertwist, high resolution, backlighted screen.
Pre-amped auxiliary input.
Higher wattage power supply.
The ability to plug in 52 USB devices at the same time.

AND THEN MY WIFE WOKE ME UP!!!!!!
