Hello Folks,
Check out the official Korg PA site at www.korgpa.com and do check the picture of PA1-X at the top it looks like it will have a dual sequencer, open operating system, secure digital card support and the rest we all know color touch screen, real time sliders, helicon harmonizer MP3 playback (optional)

Here's an interresting quote from the Korg site:
---------------------------------------------
Keybed

Korg has provided the best weighted piano shaped keybed available – designed and built in Europe in a 76 key version.

---------------------------------------------

Does that mean, it has piano FEEL keys, or just piano SHAPED keys. Maybe it's the waterfall design like Roland's new 760. If they are piano action keys.... that'll add to the weight factor. Hmmmmmmm........

Can you explain? What feature you are talking about, I know that PA-80
was not as easy as PSR series or tyros but in the navigation department but I
never had this trouble on my i30 because of the touch screen so I am hoping for
the same convenient on PA1-X on the other hand I do not like Yamaha PSR or Tyros
built in sequencers and Korg style editing is much better too you can have chord
variations within the keyboard style editor for Yamaha you will have to use CASM
editor for that purpose and Yamaha do not offer extensive editing in songs as PA
or i series does, but I see they have got the song book concept from Yamaha
which is a great feature.

On my Pa80, I didnt like all the steps to get to the smf files. I also found it too taskful to generally get around the KB while playing live on stage. Maybe with the touch screen things will improved....we'll see soon.

The biggest drawback in the Korg is that you can't access the arranger while a seq is playing or vive versa. This is the case in many newer kb's and has always been a drag. This is also one reason why I use a laptop for sequences - it allows me to access ANY part of my kb during song play, so I can get ready for any live situation at any time.

The specs look good ........ now we wait. I refuse to get all hyped up till it's on the shelves, and please don't start saying "October" ........ we'll just wait and see. I waited forever for the PA80.

Hey UD, from what you're saying it seems Yamaha and Korg are sleeping in the same bed together. I didn't realize that the PA80 took soooo long to reach the masses. And wouldn't it be funny if the Pa1-X just "trickles" in like Yamaha is doing with the PSR 1100/2100 and probably will do with the Motif ES?..... Uhh, actually I guess it wouldn't be funny at all would it. I mean, I think Yammy gives more priority to its Professional "Non-Arrranger" Keyboards. So they may surprise us all by meeting or even possibly beating their own time table. And they may even surprise us more by actually producing and shipping "substantial" quantities too. Not that you're interested "UD" in a Non-Arranger but I think several here on the Forum are, and in the Motif ES in particular. Maybe Korg will surprise us too. Stranger things have happened you know.

Best regards,
Mike

I translated this from a German website:.....

[Now it is official! KORG brings a new point key board out! First information on bilateral announcement in the key world... A bilateral announcement proves it: The new key board becomes KORG PA1 X per hot. Features were not called unfortunately, but in foreseeable time it certainly pilot lot tests in various key board magazines to give. As per the Logos one can courage-measure that it a mad Vocalisten (TC Helicon!!) beinhaten become, as well as Styles of Styles&Music. The touch-sensitive Touchscreen will, as I it see, in color being. Sliding controls are except the "normal" buttons also available - a desire of many Keyboarder. Boxes are not inserted, as far as I see. But I can be mistaken, since the key board a little is euphemistic... More information are missing unfortunately. Also I contacted and hope KORG already for more information, which I will publish naturally HERE. I am strained, which is sent us in the next days as answer... You will experience it! I hope only that KORG does not make the same "muck" as Yamaha: Mad key board, advertisement without end, musician to make hot and then not supply know...]
