I read on an earlier thread about the different 'user file (style, reg, voice, song) naming method' used on the PSR2000 vs the PSR740. Some people prefered one method over the other. I personally have no problem with the PSR2000's naming setup, but
if I want to name more than just a couple of files (style, reg, voice, or song) in a single session, I just name the files (via the PSR2000 keyboard) a simple 1 or 2 character cryptic name, save to floppy, load it into my PC, and then easily give (rename) each file a longer 'title name' via the PC's standard keyboard. This is MUCH faster than doing it on the PSR2000. Then just load and/or save the files into your PSR keyboard. Presto !

Good idea Scott.
I have found it easier (for me anyway) to name files on the PSR2000 than the 740 because I can actually SEE what I am doing on the 2000. Your idea to use abbreviated or coded name on the kb and change on the pc is a real time-saver.

Hi Scott
Yes, good idea... And a hold-over from your KN5000 days. That keyboard also is a pain to name files, songs, etc.
