I just got off the phone with a Yamaha tech. He told me the 900 and Tyros are basically the same as far as contacts, etc. Not a good thing to hear.

After 8 months, the 3K is already acting up? What's with that? I don't play like Jerry Lee Lewis. I'm beginning to think that maybe it really is meant to be played at home and not a 2 -3 day gigger instrument

I have also noticed that some of my fills, etc are not behaving the same way as before, which are subtle, but bothersome.

2 boards is a great idea and I would buy another one for the reasons Beaky pointed out, but not if they have that short of life span....

Frustrated at this time because that A note is plain awful....ughhhhhh.

I ordered a strip, but the tech said it could be a number of things such as dirt, etc.

Hopefully this will be minor and I'm just having some bad luck.

Diki, while I have you here...Did Roland drop the default G1000 piano and the "Sticky keys" rhodes [both my favorite G1000 pianos]..from the G70?

Or maybe edited and renamed them??

Sorry, Zuki that you are having so much trouble.

When you say the fills aren't acting the same, what do you mean? The variation buttons aren't responsive? That happened to my PSR3000's and it was inexpensive to repair.

I owned two PSR3000s and I had various repair issues. I think that in the three years that I spent about $200 in repairs on both instruments.

I think that two PSR3000s or PSR-S900s are a safer bet as far as trouble free gigging than one Tyros 2.

Fran, not sure I know which was the 'sticky' E. Piano.

The A11 main piano is no longer in the G70, but, IMO, the GrandX works in a similar sonic space, but with MUCH greater dynamic timbral range. In fact, IMO, the rest of the pianos in the G70 are a total waste of space. GrandX is SO good, the only other one I use for anything is the Honkey-Tonks...

BTW, if the GrandX is a little dark at times (for rock or pop tunes), try reducing the Resonance by 5, and increasing the Filter Cutoff by 5 in the Tone Edit. It beats (IMO) EQ-ing it brighter, or the MFX Enhancer...

Try changing your octave select +/- and see if playing in a different register would take care of the immediate problem at least to some degree depending on where you usually play.
