Nothing happened - it's just too big and heavy for my needs. I also need speakers. I'm considering a tandem of 3k and Hammond XK-1. I am truly in love with drawbars and want an arranger more than I need one.

As you know, the G70 is an awesome keyboard, but maybe a little too much for my wants. I'm a SMF guy more than an arranger player and I have all I need to handle SMF. I think the 3k might be something I could be happy with - I owned a 2k and sold it before buying the G.

Get it while you can, 'cuz I may change my mind at any time.

Hi Cassp
Have you thought of adding the Ketron Midjay module to the XK1, as this is designed for SMF play, as well as taking up less space then 2 keyboards?
Just a thought

Bill

The Discover 5 was your dream KB for SMF
nothing sounds better for SMF then a ROLAND

Cass I understand your desire to go lighter, but I can't believe you want to touch the PSR keys after playing a G70.

I noticed another SZ member wanting to go from Ketron to an S900...It has to be a great let down on the key feel.

Even Uncle Dave swears he will not touch another PSR feel...and he is only use to a Korg PA800..

Good luck with your decision..but I would sleep on it a while..or go under your mattress..get the bucks you need ...and keep both for a while..

I think your decision is a wise one, Cassp.

The need to drag around a heavy keyboard is not necessary with the availability of the PSR-3000 and S900...they will do MIDI files superbly...plus they have features the G70 doesn't have, like SA and MEGA Voices, USB to device(no floppies) and speakers...you can even plug the XK-1 into the available inputs and play it through the PSR.

There are many pros on this forum, besides myself, that use the PSR series and find it far more practical than a heavier keyboard.

They are excellent units.

The Hammond XK-1 is a killer...one of the best I've ever played(the Leslie sim is wicked!) and it's also light and easy to manage.

Good luck with your new acquisitions.
