I found several live played samples off the new technics kn7000 on http://www.kn7000.nl
They recorded these samples on a demo evening in Holland.

The site is in Dutch...if you didn't manage to find the live played samples here are the links :
As Alec says you need the program winamp to open the samples. (http://www.winamp.com)
The samples are much better than those from Taiyo.

Thank you for posting the links to some KN7000 styles. Having heard them I know I've definitely done right by ordering a Genesys instead. I've not heard such tinny and cheap sounding styles/voices for ages. Obviously Technics has a huge following but it's not for me. Also, I played these through top quality Mackie speakers.

Cheap and tinny....I think you are very subjective.

I had several keyboards through the years:
Yamaha psr630,640,730,740,2000,9000,9000pro, Solton sd1, technics kn6000, kn6500.
And now I ordered a technics kn7000 and this one is super.
The sound is very very good...sounds as played by live players.
I am a brass player as well (I play the slide trombone and tuba). Most keyboards do not come close to these sounds but technics does.

I don't say Genesys is no good...it is very good.
You won't hear me say Genesys is tinny and cheap...not at all.

We all have our personal opinion and that's good , other wise we will all want the same wife, the same car , the same clothes....

Haven't seen your wife, Alain, but your car HAS to be better than mine. My wife looks and sounds really great. Not so my car.
Your clothes wouldn't fit because I'm 6'5" and 250 pounds.

Dear friends,

To be honest I'm not too impressed, but perhaps it's the very compact Audio-format.

The music-shop is pretty close to where I live and I personally know the owner Jaap van Putten. He invited me to visit his shop and I expect this to happen within a few weeks.

About the Technics instruments :
I owned the KN2k, KN3k, KN5k... listened the KN6500. I'm curious how the 7k sounds. If it would sound as good as the X1 (or SD1) it would be a big surprise........ let's wait
I'll keep you informed.

At least until now the SD1 beats them all, in my opinion ........ ha !

I think when you here a keyboard and you realise it is a keyboard then there is something wrong.
When I heard people play the technics kn6000/6500 you couldn't guess it was a keyboard or a band.
That's the main point for voice quality...I don't talk about other qualities off the keyboard.
The only thing I am personally interested in is voice quality.

I also had a solton sd1 and the sound was very good indead but I found it very difficult to manipulate...maybe I'm not so clever...so I sold the Sd1.

there will be in one corner:

-pro yamaha people

-pro technics people

- those that HATE all arranagers! the PURISTs!

-the ARMS dealers - who sell all the keyboards.

-the professional critic's who buy every keyboard and always find something wrong with it.

And those that sit on the fence and can't make up there mind... and will wait ... until the dust settles ... and either buy or wait another year!

Love you guys!
Bring it ON!!!!!

When I walk into a club, I can always tell when someone is playing a Technics without looking, it's the same with any other keyboard. No keyboard will sound better than a good live band playing. The main qualities in a keyboard to me are the voices and styles, I'm not bothered what shape, colour or size it is as long as quality comes from it's outputs. The demos linked above just didn't do anything for me. I have heard better MP3's from the KN7000 but it doesn't seem to sound better than a KN6000/6500. My mate has purchased one so I will see it very soon. The SD1 is actually very easy to manipulate, it's a case of everyone has different tastes and each to their own.
There is never a best keyboard because as soon as you think you have got the greatest, along comes another model to take its place.
The Tyros, KN7000, Genesys, SD1 etc all have different attributes and I'm sure they all have their weaknesses too.
Just buy whatever you can afford on the day of purchase that suits your personal taste.
