Frank ... best wishes with your hip surgery ... You have a lot of Physical Therapy ahead of you, but STICK WITH IT ... you won't be sorry if you do ... t.
tony, thanks for your comments. It provides some comfort. This is my first encounter with the health care system. In fact, I wasn't even born in a hospital.
And you are right....there is alot of therapy...seems like 3 months of it.
But I guess it is worth it if only for less pain....oh well.

Frank ... I have a relative who needed hip replacement for MANY years ... he was afraid to go through it ... well, he finally did about a year ago, and now curses the fact that he waited so long ... he stands straight when he walks and he walks without pain ... I had a full knee replacement 3 years ago and I am soooo happy I did ... as for the therapy, SHORT TERM PAIN = LONG TERM GAIN !!! Our prayers are with you ... t.

Hey Frank , I wish you a quick recovery... I guess you want to get ready for next years NBA Allstar events...since a 5'9" guard won the dunk contest...you want to give it a shot!! Right?
Hi Frank, good luck with your surgery. A friend of mine had her hip replaced over 20 years ago at the grand old age of 32. Took a bit of time to get back to normal, but still going well. Things have progressed a great deal on the medical front since then. All the best. best wishes Rikki

Hi, Frank! You'll be FINE! A good friend and supplier of mine had the surgery around Thanksgiving last year and is in his homeland now climbing the Alps!
John Michael Montgomery, the country singer, is from this area. He had hip replacement about a month ago, and is out and about in the evenings, doing fine.

Hip Replacement Surgery: Sorry for sounding dumb, but what leads up to requiring this, and what's exactly involved in a hip/knee replacement. It's just hard for me to imagine replacing an 'entire(?)' hip bone/knee:
Frank, wishing you a speedy recovery from your hip (replacement?) surgery. - Scott

Frank, I too never had to be in a hospital for anything until recent back surgery in November. I'm now as good as new and thank God for modern medical procedures to make us well. My prayers and thoughts are with you. George Kaye

Frank,
Good luck with your hip replacement. I know quite a few people that have it done. I've never talked to anyone who has had it that hasn't said they are now great and pain free. This will give you more time to work on the FLR 2006 software arranger.
I missed many of your kind comments and thank you for them. Here is the status of me and my love ones:
I have just been told I will need to have my other hip replaced and am on the waiting list. Just don't like it...oh well.
My wife's cancer has not been cured but it has been stalled. To me that is very good news.
My best friend "Mr Dog" died recently and I miss him terribly. We have a new dog from the shelter. It helps somewhat. He needs a great deal of training.
So as you can see things are looking a whole lot brighter but the last 2 years have been awfully black and depressing. It is a real challenge to keep going but I guess you play with the cards you got. It is a humbling experience to be sick for so long and it is even more humbling when everyone in the same household is sick for so long. These were indeed some of my darkest days of my life.
Again thanks to all of you for your kind and thoughtful comments.

Hi Frank,
Hope your surgery went well. I had a hip replacement on April 7th,got out of the hospital on the 10th. I've had several PT session and am good to go, no walker, canes, or crutches.
The only thing required is care to not to dislocate the new hip. It will take a while to get the muscles back in shape.
Hi Frank , that's good news about your wife. So sorry to hear that you need your other hip done as well, and it's awful when you lose a longtime family pet.
When my little world nearly fell apart a couple of years ago, with hubby's illness & the loss of all 3 of my longtime pets, you & AJ managed to take my mind off my woes by giving me something interesting & new to think & learn about. You got me involved in the world of softsynths & computers. I think one needs something to keep their minds off their woes.
thank you best wishes Rikki

Frank ... Sorry to hear about your problems, but glad SOME things are going well ... I had the left knee replaced a few years ago, and now the other is 'acting up' ... but life goes on, and as long as that's happening, things aren't too bad ... Best wishes... t.
