Better you play and listen yourself.

In my opinion:

1st. Technics and PA
2nd. Yamaha

user friendly:
1st: Yamaha and Technics
2nd: PA

sounds (very subjective)
1st: Yamaha
2nd: Technics & PA

sounds editing & sequencer:
1st: Technics
2nd: PA
3rd: Yamaha

building quality, and durability:
1st: Technics
2nd: PA
3rd: Yamaha

support:
1st: Yamaha
2nd: PA & Technics

When it comes to voices, Yamaha definitely is head and shoulders above the pack. Styles, well how many third party styles do you find out there for the other machines--again, Yamaha gets the nod. Yammies will keep the folks on the dance floor, and that my friends is all I want to do with any keyboard.

Cheers,

Gary

Yes, Yamaha give more drive to its music.
But, perhaps Tel don't want keep the folks on the dance floor.

Dazart, your makes a statement, but you don't give arguments or reasons. I think Tel would prefer arguments to build his preference about one or another kb.

Tel: you must see and listen before buy.
Yamaha have smaller keys than Technics and Korg. If you play piano, it can be a problem for your playing techniques.

You could keep going on and on as to the why's of a keyboard, its my opiniun on what I prefer and choose.

I have been very pickey about what my next board was going to be and I chose the PSR2100 just because to me it sounds the best out of the 3 in question, the styles are what I want and it is very user friendly.Enough said.

Daz

I haven't tried the KN, but I tested the other 2.
I personally like the Korg better, better styles, much better sound.
I have and always have found Yamaha Arrangers (especially the lower and midrange models) sound quite synthetic.
Korg however, sounds to my ear more natural.
I can't help it, whenever I hear a PSR I think "Yuk!, this thing sounds like a toy synth", some sounds are pretty good, like the Live! Grand Piano, but the majority of the voices are .
But then again sounds are subjective, so you gotta choose for yourself.

Marcel

Wazza,
I think as you, but not at all.
I think Yamaha sounds are ok. I don't see problem on it.
My question with Yamaha is about two things:
1. styles, too much mechanic, synthetic, repetitive drums, not full, not rich. It is as a litlle group is playing all styles, one after other. They don't make me happy playing. Korg styles are fuller, richer.

2. key feel is bad, bad, bad, baaaaaaaaad. It is the worse you can see.

By the rest, good sounds, good harmonizer, good support on the net.
