Dave, I can't find the "Break" function as an assignable option for the multi-pedal. Am I missing something or is it not available for the pedals?

The Break function is not assignable to the pedals. Sorry. Here is a listing from the manual showing what functions can be assigned to continuous controller pedals and footswitches:
