I know this might have been brought up before but is there a difference in quality between the Tyros signature bag vs the Kaces/Gator bag for Tyros ?

Claude-

I've had my Tyros signature case for almost a year. I work 5-6 days a week, usually at least that many gigs.

*Each of the zipper thing you hold to open & close the case have broke off...

*The zipper on the right rear corner has begun to separate from the stitching. I can't zip it all the way closed anymore or I'll have to cut the zipper open..

*The rods that hold the music stand in place has poked through the top of the case it self...

...Does it still offer adequate protection? I suppose so...but I plan on upgrading to a SKB case with wheels by Spring...

They sell decent looking flight cases on ebay, i dont know if they mamke any specifically for the Tyros, but im suire they have some that will fit. They are all metal, and look like they can take a beating. They go for less than 100.

Thanks for your valuable feedbacks guys... I was about to order it on musicianfriends.com but it's out of stock for 22 days so i guess it gives me time to consider other cases now.

I bought one of those "flight cases" on ebay and have not been disappointed. It was around $100. You could drop it, kick it, etc. and it will be OK. The only thing I don't like about it is that you can't store anything but the keyboard in it - no room for cables or footswitches.

Bill,

I'm sorry to hear about the results you've gotten from the Tyros case. I'm passing along your feedback. There seems to be room for improvement.

Thanks Steve...

Have you heard other comments like mine or does my case seem to be an exception?

You want a case?

I had one custom made by www.dccases.com. I gave them the exact dimensions, and they built it for me. It costed me $200 including shipping. I was actually referred to that place by somone on this site.

They actually sent me three cases. The first they forgot to attatch the wheels, the second was a little too big, and the third they got right. They told me I could keep the other two, so I gave one away, and sold the other for $100!

I've flown with this case at least ten times, and it has served me well. It is a little heavy though - 35lb -- but then again, it has wheels.

Sorry, I just noticed that their website is off. You can try emailing them at info@dccase.com. Chony.
