I'm going to be attending Winter NAMM in Anaheim, California on OPENING Day (Thursday, January 19th, 2006). I plan to arrive in Anaheim a day earlier (Wed), and stay till Friday mid-morning.

Who else here will be attending Winter NAMM, or going to be in the Anaheim vicinity during that time?

I think it would be a terrific opportunity to meet up with fellow Synthzone members and SZ member manufacterer reps & music dealers then. If interested in meeting me then, please let me know. Perhaps if there's enough Synthzone member interest, we might even consider all going out to dinner together.

Scott

Scott,

Out of curiosity I've often wondered how I might get credentials to attend NAMM - but I've never looked into it. I have always been under the inpression that you were required to be business related to the music industry. Can you explain to me how I might be able to attend NAMM each year ? I live about 40 miles east of Anaheim.
Thanks,

vc

To attend NAMM, you must be, work for, or have personal connections with, a music dealer or music product manufacterer, of who is a member of NAMM, and willing to sponsor you, by ordering a NAMM badge in your name.

This will be my 35th NAMM show this year. Since my back surgery was just 3 weeks ago, there won't be much walking around for me this year. I will be spending most of my time at Yamaha, Korg, Roland and Ketron this year. I will be spending limited time around the booths this year so I'm not able to make any plans until I see how my health is doing as we get closer to NAMM. I'm sure we will run into each other somewhere around on Thursday Scott. I look foward to seeing you. It's been a few years since we've seen each other at NAMM.

Scott, our client, "Q Lighting" will be there.
We are finishing a job for Lowe's, and if we have no suprize delays, we'll be there the last day. I'll let you know as time gets close.

Ira Cooper, Andy Cooper and Ira Planer (two brothers and a cousin) are principals in Q Lighting...great guys. Stop by and tell them you know of a red-neck piano player from Lexington. If they don't chase you out of their booth (for keeping such bad company), they're a lot of fun to visit with. Their main product lines are medical and dental lighting, but they recently worked under contract with Martin and Warwick guitars to design limited production LED lit fret boards, have an outstanding music stand light called the Maestro, and sell various head band type lights for repair technicians, roadies, etc.

Hope to see you there.

Any speculation as to what might be presented?
Of course the Tyros 2 will be demoed. Any chance we could see a PSR3100?

Hi George: Regretably, I don't believe we've actually met in person (at NAMM or otherwise) before. We were only able to speak briefly via cellphone, from our different remote locations on the huge NAMM showroom floor, so it will be a treat this time, to finally meet you 'in person' . . . perhaps at the Yamaha booth.

Russ, I'll definitely make it a point to checkout the "Q Lighting" booth.

I'm only able to attend NAMM on opening day (Thursday 1/19), because I gotta fly back home (San Francisco Bay Area) on Friday because I gotta work (aka: gig) that evening. If you can somehow get your Lowe's project completed earlier than expected (miracles are known to happen you know ) perhaps we could meet up at NAMM on Thursday, or on Friday Morning (breakfast). Keep me posted.

I seriously doubt it. My guess is that any keyboard followup of the PSR3000 will not seen until (at least) Summer NAMM 2006.

Scott & George,

Be sure to check out Ketron. AJ has given us a tease and I can't help but believe it's a Midjay/SD2 keyboard. That would be gangbusters.

Glenn: Yep. I'm definitely hitting the Ketron booth to check out this 'new' keyboard(?) surprise. Though I doubt it's gonna convince me to trade in my Tyros2, it 'might' entice me enough to add a Ketron to my keyboard collection though. - Scott

Glenn,
The Ketron keyboard we will see at NAMM I was told will be their lower end keyboard, more to replace the XD9 rather than the SD1. Later in the year, I was told, we will see a higher end keyboard, to replace the SD1. None of this is more than a bit of information I was told by someone in the know, but this was several months ago and we will have to wait to see if I'm right or wrong.
