Could be not many members who visit SZ have that board. Just thinkin' out loud here, don't remember seeing too many posts of anyone buying that board.

Steve.......Its very strange that a KB that sounds sooooooooooo good with demos & knowing Ketron from past purchases Ive had could be so very little to find to read about on the Internet. Could it be a sleeper....or is it mostly just a European thing as some KB's are? I

Donny, I envy you...no SD-5's anywhere near here. I'm going to "take the leap" in the next week or so and order one. It will replace an old MS 60, which is about the same size.

AJ says he will help me through the learning curve, which I dread, and even load some sounds from my Solton for me.

Keep your fingers crossed. I'll let you know how things progress! One thing: Anyone think the harmonizer is worth the expense,or should I get a separate unit? Never used a harmonizer of any kind live.

Russ way to go.....I will be at AJ's "Lab" next week with Fran to play one myself.....& if the shoe fits I'll be wearing it for sure.....AJ is tops when it comes to support on Ketron products I have been dealing with him for years and he ALWAYS goes the extra mile and way beyond for his customers.....he is also super knowledgeable & knows these KB's In & Out..

I would definitly install the Vocalizer it will add a new dimension to your music ....only if you use it properly...Uncle Dave is a Master with one & has taught me many unique vocalizer techniques that really make a song come to life.....its not too difficult once you put your mind in the right way of thinking when you sing. Being your a old MS player Im sure you'll do OK with the SD5...Good Luck Russ and let us know how you progress along OK?

Take Care

I've had the SD5 with vocalizer and pattern expansion since Nov 06.

Then became a dealer.

Compared to the T2, G70, I have found that it seems to give a more realism to live play.

There are less styles than the SD1, but they can be added with the pattern expansion, the addition of the 16 direct call buttons are great, this gives instant recall of registrations, GM access, and any function for a instant use.

My only complaint is that when you are playing a style, you can not search midi files. You have to stop the style play then go to midi files

I have the SD1+ and the SD5 set-up at my shop, for side by side comparison.=
