been thinking about getting a keytar for going to jams
with instead of or along with my sax, so people who never get to see my omb or duo can realize I am not just a sax player. i don't sit in on the house kb's w/other jazz musicians because my lh voicings are more for myself singing, i'm not in a league w/the real pianists, but my rh
is cookin..anyone have any experience using
one of those..which ones, pros/cons..seems roland only one making it now but ebay often has some other models

Had one for a number of years as a novelty. That's all it is. In fact I found it too limiting because it makes your left hand all but useless. No sustain pedal option either (and I never could get used to the "sustain button"). Most people think it's kinda silly, or worse - that you are "trying to be a guitar player". That's why there's so few of them.

would not want to be using my left hand in that situation,
except for pitch bend and navigation..and I rarely use sustain pedal anyway. would be using various sounds to solo. saw herbie hancock w/keytar in a concert video and
he was awesome on it, didn't seem like trying to be a
guitar player, he used a spacey rhodes-type sound

Guys, could you help me?

Is the keytar the thing the guy from this video plays? Sonata Arctica - San Sebastian

Thanks

yes, that is a keytar, but that was a horrible thing to do to
somebody, make them watch that gruesome clip.
